They didn't get fired, their contracts were up.
The contracts for Mr. Jay, Miss Jay and Nigel expired. Tyra did not renew them at all with the guidance of the ANTM Team. They had been suffering in ratings and the team thought that by removing them it would help revamp. #BigFail. the show would be more excited with them.

I respect that Tyra can recognize she’s created something bigger than just her. Top Model isn’t just a reality competition; it’s set the standard in reality competitions and still is even today. So happy to have it back!!

She said she took away the age requirement (of being 18-27), but only 2 of the models/contestants are 30+
I mean the age requirement expulsion is still fairly new so I doubt many people had the confidence to do it yet. Maybe after a few seasons with this rule, more people of older age will come.

So? It opens up opportunities for people. Just because the rule changed doesn't mean that half the cast has to be above 30. It's great that they did that. But in the real world older models have a more difficult time getting work unless they were established when they were younger. The same goes with plus size models that's why they only have one or two each season. They're giving them the opportunity but just because they want to change beauty standards doesn't mean they're going to have all plus size models.

I used to be a big fan of Antm but I stopped watching right before the British cycle. The challenges were just getting so ridiculous, Tyra was soooooo annoying, and I hated how she kept replacing the judging panel- she should never have gotten rid of the Jay's or Nigel. Tyra and the producers were having the contestants do things no real model would ever really do just for the show's sake of doing something new and different.
I'd rather see something more stripped down and normal like the earlier cycles.
Ps- I also stopped watching when she hired Kelly Cutrone. That woman is so dark and mean. A complete turnoff and made the show really unwatchable for me.
Nigel really made the difference, it would be amazing if she could even enlist Russell James. And perhaps had one other Supermodel like Doutzen Kroes, Karolina Kurkova, Selita Ebanks or Liya Kebede as secondary mentors. Just my thoughts.
