I had to send my IC-7300 and IC-705 in for repair. Sent the 705 to Washington repair center, and it took about a month to get it back. The first time I sent my IC-7300 in for repair because the screen was going bad, it went to Michigan. Matt done a great job and got it back in two weeks. The second time it went in for repair, it had some water damage. Sent it back to Michigan. It took a while to get it back because Matt didn't have the circuit board needed for repair in stock. It was an expensive repair, but Matt worked with me on making a couple of payments. If you have to send an Icom in for repair, send it to SAR Technologies in Michigan. They don't have an automated phone center. When you call, you'll talk to a person.
I actually just bought a new 7300 from MTC for $909 shipped to my door. Then i have a $100 mail in rebate through Icom if i recall. Love my 705 so the 7300 is gonna be sweet!
Iam able to change the waterfall color on my FT 710. I like the icom as was torn between the 7300 and 710 and the choice was the 710 which has the DVI port on the back
You cant change as many aspects of the water fall and spectrum . The you can pick like 5 color schemes on 710. They both are great radios. Why not own both...I do lol 😆
Depending on the state that you live in, the sales tax law might require (as in California) the sale tax being calculated on the pre-sale price. Some chicken shit states, just do not want to miss out on the few extra dollar or cents by taxing the after sales price.
DX engineering got me on the same deal, tax on full price. R&L and Gigaparts don’t do this. That’s why I bought my second one from Gigaparts (saved $35 over Dx).
I think that the 7300 sounds better on single sideband so I would switch those two around especially since both of them I think have CWD code don't they
If you mean no EXTERNAL power supply you could take a look at the upcoming IC-7760. It's got an internal power supply but it will be heavy, bulky, and definitely not a radio you'll want to move around often. Pretty much all modern radios require a power supply, some just happen to have one inside the same box that holds the radio itself.
You would think so. But thats not how they are doing it and it might be legal in most states but I think its incredibly SHADY AND BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. But every time I say this I get attacked with comments from idiots on here that dont agree for some reason. Probably liberal wackos that just want to argue for the sake of it.

Next time buy from R&L no taxes and free shipping
I want a 7300 for digital and cw, the 710 for ssb phone.

@@hamradiohack the 7300 can run a higher duty cycle, plus my 710 sounds super good on sideband. 🤣
Do any of the new radios "not" need a PS?
Only maybe kenwood 990 lol
@@hamradiohack that's why you gotta love the old 101e, plug right into the wall, and the FT-990, no flipp'n power supplies....

DX Engineering is a rip off, they don't give discounts.
Shouldn't the coupon have come off the sale price pre-tax? Sales taxes are calculated on sales price including discounts afaik
