Honestly I really like Modern Warfare RTS's like JTF and larger offerings like World in Conflict (still easily top-tier), but this...this is just next level. I especially love how far out you can zoom - to literally see the entire battlefield. The micro scale is really impressive too. Everything just ties together to really sell the massive scale of Conventional Warfare. Can't freaking WAIT for this to drop!
Can't wait to play this. I really hope we eventually get DLC's for NATO, China and maybe some other countries. The scenario and editing options will be endless if they do. If not, i hope modders can do it.
counterfire radar would be a great add to this game. When emitting, it could ID artillery fire within a specific area; a digital-capable arty piece could be assigned counterfire role and automatically fire at the point of origin.
The "Counter-battery" complex order is already in Warno. You don't even need to pay attention to counter-battery anymore, it's pretty underwhelming now
you would have to position the radar to scan in a specific area; so you'd have to predict en artillery positioning, defend your radar, etc. @@erikbruil4907

You shouldn't be able to see arty fire without either observers (visual, radar, etc) Something blows up? No radar, no observers? No idea where it came from. I'm advocating for a more advanced system; you need to be prepared to find out where its coming from before you can shoot it.
T-14 are real my dude. Not in big numbers, maybe not combat tested and not sure if they ever will replace the T-90s, but not more "Fantasy Tech" than the F-35

Former Weapons Company guy here. You're basically just rolling a Marine infantry weapons company, heavy on CAAT. (Which, is the platoon type. "Combined Arms Anti-Tank".) Generally they roll 2x TOW/ITAS, 2x .50, 2x Mk19 mounted on humvees, plus or minus some vehicles depending on how many are available. I think I've seen dismounted and rolling in 7-tons (MTVRs) with a tripod setup maybe once my entire career. The company has two CAAT platoons usually, unless they're augmented with extras for deployment. Great game, though. I'm really excited to see where it goes in the future with development; it looks a lot cooler than WARNO.
my main problem right now is that the trailers looked like Brigade and up level of combat like the scale of warno and more where you field multiple platoons of infantry, companies of tanks and batteries of artillery
Same I find trying to screen my flank is a bit limited, but concentrated armor could blow straight through me. Something I do in Warno, is I'll play against six bots vs myself and a friend to just crank up the availability and fight as two separate battalions.

This kind of stuff could totally change. The game's maps seem more focused to me, covering less overall area probably to push players to really use terrain features and fight at shorter ranges. I think that, on top of the era difference, is what makes it distinguish itself from Warno.

Very fun to watch which is good for me because I cant manage these type of games. It runs well and doesn’t have any hiccups which is pretty crazy for new games. I also love how the lighting changes very neat.
if you have contact with the developers, they absolutely have to add smoke to the destroyed vehicles. we lose a lot of immersion because of that. and explosion impacts (bomb and artillery) but it is more optional. smoke above all, in my humble opinion.
If they can optimize the smoke effects, I think having a battlefield with smoke towers littering the battlefield would look dope as hell. It would certainly add to the immersion
Crazy that they left so little to defend their last point and didn't respond when you got in. I guess they were tunnelvisioning on microing their Himars? You can fit a squad of Marines and a CAAT Dragon together in an amtrac, or a Marine Raiders squad & a Force Recon squad. Might as well fill your transports to bring troops in efficiently.

I played my firsts match today and SP mission, WARNO helped me a lot with understanding the game, and made it so much easier. I like how you can strafe with planes that got main gun and rockets, you drag a path like bombing run for plane to strafe. MLRS is much more powerful than WARNO HE is so weak in there apart from BM-30 Smerch.
Great video, loved that your whole team was on board with a nice slow continuous push. Watching your videos is making me crave some BA I hope we get a release date soon I got just under 200 hours in during the beta.
Tip: you don't need to bring pivads if you have an LaVAD already, as they serve the same role, you can then use the free space to put mortars or paladins.
Glad to see another US POV for this game, unfortunate for the mirror match but good fun to watch nonetheless. I love my arty play and those HIMARS are so satisfying when they land. One hell of a good job by your team with conserving their units too, insane value there.
i really hopw that they just improve how clunky this game feels, i get that its in open beta but for some reason troop control just feels a wee bit frustrating to me
I have been kicking ass on multiplayer lately. Maintain a safe corridor for helicopters to come and go and you can have cas on station the whole time with a constant stream of supply and reinforcements. I have been taking the farthest objective with this strat. Air Assault is really fucking gnarly
You can just U click a building to get your infantry to go inside. The vehicle will drive up to it. What you used there with the arrow is meant for forest disembarks and the like where you want the infantry to go with the vehicles staying at the edge so they don't get ambushed
Not sure I love that buildings don't get flattened/destroyed. Just seems like you should be able to neutralize the building advantages as you advance or retreat.

I have never once had any of my ballistic missiles hit. They get shut out of the sky by enemy anti air systems every time without fail. Yet I'm constantly getting hit by them because my fully armed patriots sitting there don't do anything.
Game looks interesting but I wish the special effects were more on par with World in Conflict. Those explosions were a sight to see! To me, it looks very much like copy Wargame Red Dragon. Still a strategy game where your zoomed out most of the time having to micromanage everything instead of enjoying the battlefield experience.
The sound design on those infantry firefights is amazing

God that would be boring, you already have a counter battery radar; your eyes.

Yea deff need more points even if you save ur points n have like 4k once u use them all you don't get points anymore sucks.

Yea but that much smoke lingering with ongoing combat and moving units would probably play hell on fps and general performance for most people

Agreed, controlling units feels weirdly unresponsive and impactful. Deploying aircraft feels rubbish.

everytime i try to use long range missles they go to attack then no missles fly out. is it because you need recon units close with eyes on?

Question: with aircraft that can self-lase, do you have to order them to lase before attacking or will they lase on their own?
You can use P to launch at static targets with guided weapons. You can also laser them with aircraft for more accuracy.
This is what Generals 2 should have been. Hoping there will be full naval combat at some point.

Air defense systems have to be overwhelmed. Do not shoot one or two in a a place with anti air, but rather 6 or more.
And as of the anti air not shooting, it sometimes bugs, it is still beta

Not a fan of the multipler. Good to watch on youtube, but much prefer to play single player mode
