    Great tips! I have never switched off my filters in winter. I also find the water movement keeps the surface ice free.

      Lee the old boys are sitting round the fire in the side bar still cyder in hand poking sticks in it and the word is bad winter coming January and I have never known them to be wrong

    Thanks Lee. I'm using tarp as my cover. Decided against a heater due to the overall cost. Brill vid as always

      Yes I understand that heaters can cost a lot to run. Planning on doing a video on the subject soon.

    Should you turn of air pump?

      Not required as much due to the cooler water being able to hold more oxygen, but it can help the surface stop freezing with a bit of surface agitation.

      The air pump is usually not needed in cold water. You can save a few pound on the electric.
