What IS Good Technique? (Via U2's "Two Hearts")

We've been playing this excellent U2 song in Jam Class for a while, and when I sit in on bass, this is the technique I choose for my hands.
Finding the right technique is about finding the most efficient physical method for playing something... for your body. You want to use the least amount of effort possible to get the job done.
