This man is a blessing went to one of his classes for transam I failed 4 or more times backing to get the job he never up on me showed me how to back up which i was never taught can’t thank him enough , thanks cornell 😎🙏🖤
This specific video is essential and insightful information about the pivot point to reference a driver's decision of not guessing, but exactly understanding the physics of tractor trailer reactions to right and left turning in backing maneuvering. I am extremely grateful and thankful for your timely videos that you have provided for others to achieve their goals of becoming successful and efficient drivers as well. I truly would recommend that you continue to be the light in the darkness or uncertainty for others who are struggling or doubting themselves that nothing is impossible. I pray that your family and you will be influential and inspirational force for your success. Thank you for speaking, sharing, showing, or providing essential advice on various topics for tractor trailer drivers. I listen to C Love's song, so I pray that he continues to be the best version of himself to make his success even more inspiring for others.
The pivot is the most crucial part of the backing maneuver in my opinion. I understand the theory of backing a trailer but I guess it my the lack of proper instruction that made my backing a nightmare. But the technique I was taught was not considered a 45 degree back and was instructed that if I continued to treat it as such I would fail every time. I am curious if you come across this concept. I thank thank you for the video two times.
Thank you so much!!! You’re videos have definitely helped me more than you could know with my backing. The way you demonstrate with the trucks and break it down are so much more comprehensible for me to understand
Once again great explanation on the What, When and How of this maneuver. It’s Simple, Exact and Eloquently put. I got my Class A two weeks ago out here in Washington state through FedEx. I want to thank you for sharing this knowledge it was key for me passing on my first try. The way you speak and teach is exactly how I learn. These folks up here be dressing words up to sound intelligent over complicating it. Anyways appreciate you!
I'm literally about to start a Hosler Driver position for a Big railroad company and my only experience is operating heavy equipment for a mining company i've been watching your video's on backing since i hear that's the hardest part i never back a trailer besides small one's not 48 or 53s thanks for the tips and such wish me luck
Wow brother I’m in Dallas Texas too I just got my cdl through raider express in Fort Worth I appreciate that school but now It’s pretty much my first day with angled backing and I’m having a tough time seeing my pivot point
Thanks for the video sir . I have issues with my tandems all the way forward. When I go to back my trailer overhang is killing me . What can I do to help with that ? Hope you can answer me thanks
Do the trailer tires always stop rolling and pivot? I have tried this maneuver and its not working im missing something? I dont see the tires stop rolling....
Here's another way you can tell when the pivot has already began. (Not sure if you're familiar with the term jackknife,) that's when you're holding a turn so long that it looks like you're about to crush the tractor trailer against one another. (Of course you don't want to do that) but if looks like it's getting to that point, the pivot has already begin. you should now turn the steering wheel all the way back to the left and continue to back up. You would then notice the back of the trailer spin around just like the example in the video.
I got some videos coming my friend. I'm getting my merchandise ready so I can make some money for the family. Just keep checking for me and I got you covered....
I c u but from I don't based off yo previous videos I have 2 let the tandems get lil deeper in hole I thought the reference point was when u come in contact with edge of trailer or that imaginary yellow line so more mitivation
Correct, I have another video called the best way to (set up) for 45 backing maneuver. Look at one and follow those instructions and it should help you. The procedure is the same on all maneuvers. (Thisisebm.com) (Cornell..Collins.EBM Instagram)

The thing is to recognize when the pivot has begun..So you don't hold the turn to long. It's all about knowing when you've gotten the results of a turn and being proactive in the controlling and or/ correcting of the turn.. Thanks for watching Kevin...
I agree with the get out and look part Mr. Peralte. But a lot of the new driver need some type of reference point. Because they don't know what they are looking for, and many are unsure what to do with the wheel once they have the results of what ever turn they decide to make. That's what I was trying to point out with this video. Hopefully I'II do better on the next one.

6:35
12:32 I’m a rookie but right here, it looks like by the time you get back in front you’re hitting that right trailer. What am I missing?
If you only pull up the 6-8 feet and keep turning left the tandems don't move so if you had them in front of the space properly you should be good.
wow! they dont want us to pivot! but my intuition was to this sigh!

I agree Mr. Peralte, thanks for watching Sir.
@Schneider Peralte not for some people. You'd be surprised on how many students mess this maneuver up. Cornell this is truly a helpful video.
If you Get Out And Look, any maneuver is piece of cake. I’m telling you!
