As soon as Jamie started posting how her workouts changed to emphasize strength to tackle the challenges of American open wheel cars...I was a fan. She is obviously talented, committed, and passionate about competing in the sport. Lots of other drivers in her position would rather just use the racing series to boost their social media following and could care less about competition. Lfg Jamie.
f1 academy > w series. it’s a max of 2 years and its goal is different from w series. it seeks out female talent and takes the ones who DO succeed and siphon them up to the higher formulas (if they’re good enough*!)
Exactly! F1A has an established spot on the feeder series ladder where the W Series didn’t. It encourages winners to move up the ladder rather than stay in the series and dominate like Chadwick did. It has only existed for 1.5 years so we need to wait a bit longer for the series to prove its value.
@@EllaGP22 The woman who ran the W series was quoted as saying to the effect that women should have their own series and not race against men. It turned off many and I think also caused Jamie's accomplishments there to be somewhat discredited. It was a blessing that lack of sponsorship money and other things tanked that series. F1 is NOWHERE NEAR like the W Series. As you said, it is a showcase with the goal of the best of these ladies getting seats further up the ladder. I will also say that the series landing Dorian Pin was big in boosting its visibility. And along with that, many of us now know who Abbi Pulling is.
