Great reaction! Did you notice Roger singing his heart out while not missing a beat on the drums? I often wonder when he managed to take a second to breathe...
'Save Me' from the same concert is brilliant!

I think you should "go down the rabbithole " & do alotmore Queen. I am so interested in your age bracket to hear what you think about music done without synthesizers & other gimmicks, Queen is raw talent unlike much of today's music. Please do Queen's Live AID performance, it is judged around the world as the best performance ever.

Freddie Mercury. The greatest front man in Rock and Roll history. Noone came close to him. His performance at Live Aid 1985, despite a sore throat, was the greatest. Ever. He could sing anything. Rock. Opera. Soundtrack. He wrote the greatest song in Rock and Roll history. Freddie Mercury. Legend. Forever.

If you like this, you and your friends would love Queen's performance at the Live Aid concert in 1983. It was a charity concert for famine aid in Africa, all the world's most famous rock and pop stars performed free and it was watched by millions on TV all over the world as well as the crowd at Wembley stadium. Queen absolutely killed it - Freddie's friend David Bowie was next after Queen and he said to Freddie "You b******, how do you expect me to go on after that?" You want the version with the policemen because the other version cuts off at the end - it is a bit over 20 minutes. Freddie had throat problems at the time and had been advised by his doctor not to perform. It includes a song that Freddie wrote as a tribute to Elvis Presley and he sounds just like him.

Freddie had a honey mixture drink for his throat when performing, sometimes Freddie would go against the doctors orders not to sing when he had touch of laryngitis, and when ever his voice sounded a little hoarse when hitting the high notes that's when his throat wasn't 100% but he would never back out of a live performance and dissappoint his fans.Freddie and Queen were the greatest performers ever.❤

Queen with Freddie were one of the very few bands that were really global and appealed to all ages ... I've been playing drums for over 45 years and many places I played I was told that if my band didn't play any Queen we wouldn't go down too well lol ... luckily we had a few Queen songs in our sets!

  • @papercup2517
    @papercup2517 8 месяцев назад +2

Another truly spectacular live performance by Queen is White Queen, Live at Hammersmith Odeon, 1975.
An earlier song with a very different mood, romantic medieval vibes and Freddie very beautiful with his long hair and make-up... Oh, and a mesmerising guitar/piano duet between Freddie and Brian May...
Not all bands give such consistently great live performances as Queen do, and TBH I'm sometimes disappointed comparing them to the recorded versions. Some are great but some are frankly pretty awful or just OK... If you want specific recommendations for a particular artist people here can probably guide you to the best examples, or their favourites, so you don't get disappointed.
Also, some older bands say from the 60s and 70s (before MTV and the invention of videos) rarely had their live performances recorded/filmed so often the only video available will be of some sort of later 'reunion' or comeback sort of show, with the band all older and voices often not what they once were. Great for nostalgia for those who remember them from their youth but not the best introduction to these legendary artists.

It's one of my favourite Queen songs, too. What a singer. What a performer.
Queen was one of the best bands in the world. Shame the music industry has changed for the worse. It's hard for that kind of originality, creativity, and sheer talent to come through now and make it..

I guessed Arthuro couldn’t keep his head still for too long. Watching this made me think of Green Day’s concert in Hyde Park where the crowd sang Bohemian Rapsody.

I have read that someone commented the following
At 3.35 Brian May wanders off the stage cause of issues with his guitar
At 3.40 Freddie notices goes into extended improvised performance
At 3.53 you can hear Brian is tentatively strumming to check guitar
At 4.10 Brian is back and Freddie carries on song
That is what you call true performers. No stopping no tantrums just keep going
    Perfection as always from them

You guys are great Freddie was an insanely great composer and singer and pianist It wasn’t beer… it’s honey and lemon for his throat. Beer would just make a singer belch. This song is even better ( seems impossible ) LIVE in Milton Keynes ✌🏼😂

No one ever notices that Brian May (guitar player) breaks a string in the middle of this song- that’s how talented and amazing they are! Starting at 4:20 (in this reaction) you will see Freddy get up and walk to center stage, he looks back at Brian, and then you see in the background Brian walking off the stage to get his string fixed. Freddy improvises for a while- and listen- you only hear drums, bass, and Freddy. Then Freddy looks back to see Brian returning, and begins the song again. These guys are the ultimate professionals! ❤❤❤🤘🏼🤘🏼

Love Joel's face when the song started 'properly' - 'yes, here we go!'
And Stefan's face when Freddie hits the note/riff after his beer :)

Check out Liar and Seven Seas of Rhye from Queen live at the rainbow. It showcases Freddie's 70s voice. It got deeper in the 80s.

Queen was a great international band.joel I'm surprised you haven't ever showcased you're own gems like CCR creedance clearwater revival, run through the jungle, have you ever seen the rain, heard it through the grapevine, fortunate sun, proud mary,on the bay u,bad moon arising.

What's even better than watching them in a video is watching them LIVE. I got to do that 3 times with Freddie and once with Paul Rodgers. Honestly, if you closed your eyes, you swear you were listening to their record. Freddie Mercury, is and will always be, one of the best!! Should do a reaction to 'White Queen' live, this was before they hit the world stage and shows the incredible talent of all four members of the band!

I have been a Queen Fan since the very first time I heard Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio in 1975. I never understood why America didn't accept Queen at the level they deserved. It was only after Live Aid that they started to get buzz in the states, then after Freddie's death, their record sales exploded. Sad that many Americans missed out on a musical treasure when they toured here. I was lucky to see them 6 times at Madison Square Garden and they didn't disappoint live. RIP Freddie, there can be only one.

Somebody to Love was Freddy's favourite song that he wrote. Check out any live song from 1986 Wembley concert. Starting with the opening song( One Vision) inspired and dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr. There's also a documentary on the making of One Vision in the studio I think you may like thank you for your reaction.

No dear it’s a sip of tea with lemon and honey to keep his voice and throat supple. Freddie did not drink any alcoholic or carbonated beverages before or during his performance he was afraid of burping into the microphone, he felt that would be disrespectful to the audience, the other drinks on the piano top are water, soda and beer for Deaky and Brian.

I’m 51, so growing up at that time, you’re sort of attuned, when you’re with your parents, of course at any given point, it gets to be more mainstream and advertising picks up on that. Funny to hear your Mom playing it the car with you 😄👍
