Chad, it’s great to see you landing such wonderful fish on your new rod, a great combo… great fish, great angler, great fly line… great fishery, what more can you ask for… thanks for trusting me my friend.
Hey Chris did I see you was in the police somewhere? I too did 3 years as police office in my you younger years ….. decided it wasn’t for me though in the end
@@barrybigplums you certainly did my friend, I did 17 years at Stoke Newington (Hackney) on the staff side , logistics and asset management, I had the best job on the Force until a manager likened to Cruella De-Ville came in and fugged it all up… 33 years service all together. The job is not for everyone, I saw many great people come and go… we all follow the path that we were meant to… mine now consists of grand parent privileges and Fly fishing… (perfection)
Hey dudes … the link to Andy Bantings facebook is in the video description …. Drop him a lime if you fancy a custom bloke rod …. Also when I was messing about with my go pro settings I managed to turn off video stabilisation s9 the video is a bit wobbly and wobbly …. Sorry about that I will of course turn it back on for the next video …. Regards Chad
Picked up #7wt floating Bloke line and it's just phenomenal. For a newbie like me the overhang marker is a massive plus!! The way I saw it, Bloke rod blanks are some of the best you'll get, so I figured they'd know a thing or two about line quality too. I wasn't wrong, and for the price, you just can't go wrong.
🔥 video gotta love trout fishing the scenery and those beautiful trout! I just uploaded some trout fishing videos they were a blast to make cannot seem to find anyone else that’s 16 and interested in fishing as much as me!!!!!!
Hi Chad, well done for persevering and bagging that last fish. It was probably about 2pm when I spoke to you on the bank of Spring Lake and I didn't manage another fish after that and left around 3.30. Can you remind me of the setup and flies you were using?
Hey there dude , good to meet you on the bank …. I tried all sorts I had two buzzers on and a blob , I had a leech on the point and a blob on the dropper and the last fish was on a single fly of a small black and green cruncher
Hey Chad. I’ve corresponded with Alan over his rede river lines which are fantastic, some of the best lines about, I discussed these rods and I’m tempted! By the way, Alan owned Rede River and has taken over Bloke rods rather than the other way round, I believe ?? Alan Tait now heads up bloke rods…. Although I’m not sure if Andy is still building them ? You’d know better than me
Ok matey - in honesty I suspect you are correct actually now I think about it - you are right way round lol he told me when I ordered the bloke line and it arrived on a rede river spool. I have a 7wt rede river line - it really is the best kept secret in fly fishing - such amazing lines at a fraction of the big brands
@@barrybigplums yeah, I used it at a fishery once; a guy let me have a cast without after I commented on the way it flys off the reel …. I cast it once and ordered one as soon as I got in, I’ve since had 3 floaters and the intermediate which is also superb. I’ve recommended that line to everyone. For £27 delivered, it’s better than any line I’ve used and that includes some that are £70! I’d never use any other lines now. 👍🏻 is the rod worth money? I’d undecided between a custom bloke rod or a guideline elevation as my next one
Hi BC, Andy Banting will happily build you a custom Bloke Rod to your own specifications , he has great skills, Chad bought his rod on my recommendation as have a number of other renowned casters, I absolutely LOVE the rod that Andy built for me, if you want to see more go to my review video @Grandpa Chris R on RUclips and listen to Andy himself. The blank that Chad is using is identical to mine and I have landed some excellent doubles on the rod, it is truly a great bit of kit and at a price that competes very well with all of the big name rods, feel free to mention my name when you call Andy. Tight lines.
Hi Chad this is my local fishery. I've tried to tempt the large fish swimming slowly around the perimeter but nothing seems to tempt them. Keep on trying though. :0
I have seen Grampa Chris has a similar rod. they both look very soft and whippy on film ie bend allot when casting and playing fish i don't mean this in a bad way. can you confirm this or does it just look v soft through action on film? ps keep living the dream.
@@barrybigplums my Rede River line arrived this morning, can’t wait to try it out on the Bloke rod… I saw how it performed for you and clicked the buttons… thanks my friend.
It’s difficult to say as I have the bloke fly line in 5wt and the rede river line in 7wt ….. I found both not to different in honestly they shoot like a shooting head but are not so aggressive that they collapse under their own weight during false casting
Great to stumble across videos like this online, thank you for such great reviews. Would you mind if I used the video on our pages? I prefer to use independent video reviews about our equipment than making my own because anyone can big-up their own products.
Fished with Mick Bell on the Tweed and at his cottage on the Ettrick. A top bloke.

It’s nice to find some quality lines which do not cost £100+

The Rede River Long Haul is the line equivalent to the Bloke line.
Yeah it’s just a different colour …. Amazing for the money - not delicate in the slightest but very powerful

You're correct we do now run Bloke Rods, but keeping both as their own entity.

It cast a 4.5mm tungsten bead leech with wet fibres without an issue - the mid section has plenty of power but the tip defo bends
