Seregor is so insanely talented. Not just playing guitar while singing, but playing lead on a 7-string - tremolo picking & complex riffs. Not to mention writing really good lyrics in a language that’s not his mother tongue. And how is his hair always so silky & gorgeous?
My favorite band. Exceptional! Too pity that they dont make use of additional guitar and bass guitar players. It would take the live sound onto a much higher and heavier level.
Crowd can't believe it's just one guitar with keyboard and drum. Doesn't have the "oomph" of Deicide that's headlining that show. Same attitude Satyricon had to deal with when they toured with Pantera.
They are live just so great.. Saw them this year in Alsfeld, Hesse, Germany at the Kings of Black Metal. Awesome show! Metalheads dieser Erde, vereinigt euch!
I gotta say, I love Carach Angren, but Seregor's guitar work isn't always tight live. It's very obvious on lingering on an imprint haunting, the first song. I've seen them about 4 times now, and while I do enjoy them every single time, I always conclude that they should really get a second guitarist or something, because the vocal work and guitar parts are way to complicated to do simultaneously.
LordRezo Yea I know. I'm starting to think it's a pride thing, because these three guys are the founding members and they don't want anyone else in the band that wasn't there from the start. But they really need it, the guitarwork seems really really sloppy live. And that's a shame, because they seem really perfectionistic on their albums.
LordRezo But I for one, wouldn't dare play anything that sloppy live. I'm in a couple of bands myself (and mine are just beginning bands without any experience), and I refuse to play live before we have everything perfected, and that has been working out fine for me. Knowing that you can play everything perfectly or at least cover up a mistake without anyone noticing does a lot for your peace of mind. Wether you're in a black metal band or technical death metal band, you have to be critical about your own music and your own skills, and you shouldn't settle for less than all you got, you know. Especially in parts where there's only one guitar and you can hear the mistakes very very clearly. I just don't get it.
Vorthar I agree. And adding a Bass Player wouldn't be considered a crime. Also when Musicians are recording, their using a Metronome, which helps with timing.
Vorthar I agree too. Saw them last year with an additional violine player and thought that he is a full member. Unfortunately he wasnt, sounded great. A base player and an additional guitar player would be cool. Still, fantastic music :)
ReignOfFools I also think ist a thing of uniqueness. Do you know another band with just a drummer, a keyboarder and an guitarist/singer? Thats kinda special, but the quality lacks a bit. BBut as I already said, still a great (live)band!
I’m guessing they were the opening act (looks like there’s a covered-up drum kit behind Namtar) and no one knew who they were. Also, american metal audiences tend to be more into slipknot & mastodon-type crap.
It makes me too sad that this band with these powerful and amazing composition and members have no high quality concert They need orchestra and big halls when they want to play these great and epic songs But.. what can they do? And what can we do? Just listening at home
Shit, this is worth 2 comments. It's three guys! Why add an extra guitarist. This is fucking awesome. They blow the audience away. I'm from the hardcore/dubstep (digital music) area. But this is tight. Good music, really good. Who cares if guitars are off, these guys play like they really want it. Wish they played at my birthday, for free, if can ;)
+Tr7 patrick I think adding an extra guitarist was a good idea. I like the music and especially their 3rd album Where the Corpses Sink forever, but his guitar playing combined with singing is kinda poor. I saw them at Summerbreeze '15 and they where awsome with additional guitar!
I absolutely love these guys but the live performance is just a bit sloppy as others have said :S The mix is a bit strange too, can't hear much guitar low end, some of the sound fx are very loud etc.
California, blehhhhhhhhhhhhh. If I were in a European band, I’d never bother touring in the u.s. Latin America, definitely. The u.s., nein, nee, nel, нет, όχι.

Man this band really needs a bigger lineup to reproduce the sound they create in the studio. Seregor shouldn't do it all himself!
Crowd can't believe it's just one guitar with keyboard and drum. Doesn't have the "oomph" of Deicide that's headlining that show. Same attitude Satyricon had to deal with when they toured with Pantera.
The wonderful stories they tell
They are live just so great.. Saw them this year in Alsfeld, Hesse, Germany at the Kings of Black Metal. Awesome show!
Metalheads dieser Erde, vereinigt euch!
Still, one of my favorite experiences!

There's always been a great pit at the shows I've been to. I agree, this crowd sucks

Why is that crowd so tame? This is amazing.
I’m guessing they were the opening act (looks like there’s a covered-up drum kit behind Namtar) and no one knew who they were. Also, american metal audiences tend to be more into slipknot & mastodon-type crap.
Brilliant
It makes me too sad that this band with these powerful and amazing composition and members have no high quality concert

But.. what can they do? And what can we do?

Shit, this is worth 2 comments.
It's three guys! Why add an extra guitarist.

I absolutely love these guys but the live performance is just a bit sloppy as others have said :S
The mix is a bit strange too, can't hear much guitar low end, some of the sound fx are very loud etc.

Барабанщик лажает страшно
I love this band, but damn this is dreadful. I'm definitely not seeing them live if they sound like this.
Lame audience..
This is absolutely fucking dreadful.
Not as dreadful as your useless comment. However the sound quality could be better i'll admit. They sound much better on the albums.
he is a fucking amazingly talented guitarist/vocalist. that's a big job
