It told me how to get around it. I just set the phone up like it's brand new. It set everything back to factory default. I had to get past the password. This guy's site did the trick. I removed sim card, removed battery, then put back in and went thru the steps. Just like new.

Google should warn you about the lockout period before you factory reset. So many people have been locked out by changing their google password and then resetting after a security scare. Then they can't use their phone for 24 hours.

You need to add a Gmail account and make sure you add a pin, password or pattern. Once you do this then no one can hack and login to your phone if you lose it or it is stolen.

Some backstory: The original owner forgot both the email and password used for the phone and it has resulted for the phone to go into a state of FRP (factory reset protection) and this meant that the previous owner made countless attempts to regain access to the phone but was unfortunately unsuccessful. This resulted in the owner to be really frustrated and thought to give the phone to someone who can put some time into it. And since then many months later I still have been making attempts and I will never back down I’ll keep trying

This information is useless. By the time the vast majority of users find out they have FRP enabled, and naturally have forgotten which Google account they used to log into the phone or tablet, they can't turn off FRP, and the phone or tablet is useless. The FRP system completely misunderstands the ability of ordinary device users.

Well i'm trying to enable it and FRP doesn't activate. Tried login with my google acc and also samsung acc, plus adding a pin code and every time i reset my phone via recovery mode it doesn't request any of those, i can add any account and i don't want that to happen.
My google phone already has it. I just used OEM unlock on it since it is an unlocked Pixel phone. I decided to pay for full price so to benefit more freedom with software.

Traded in a pixel phone followed the instructions they sent in the box. Had no idea it was locked I followed their instructions to factory reset it. Now they send me an email instead of getting $380 back in a trade in I get $60 because it's a paper weight. They refuse to send it back to me so I can remove the account. Don't trade in a phone unless you make sure 100% there is no account associated with it. I'm not in favor of these schemes rather have it just factory reset and now the phone can used by anyone. People don't remember these account passwords.
What's crazy is I have previously worked in the cell phone industry (I used to buy phones from people and resell them overseas etc.) Anyway, Google should totally be sued for this nonsense, it should be up to the carrier to disable a phone NOT Google! If I do a cache wipe and hard reset on a device (that is NOT stolen) and all of the personal info is removed, I should be able to use the device. nah, I run a tech donation center for people who have been suddenly displaced and need help getting back on their feet. I have 14 assorted tablets and phones that I can't wipe and fix because most users don't know this information, and don't wipe it the correct way (hard reset from the buttons causes FRP). So I have usable devices, ready to go. but the software is locking me out, so i can't get devices into the hands who need them. if i can't find a way to unlock these devices, they'll go into the landfill. just an absolute waste.

Yes, if you enter your pin too many times it will factory reset the phone. You could check Google Photos on the web to see if it has any photos backed up. You could also logon to www.google.com/android/find/ and change your pin on your phone.

Hello, I have a Samsung galaxy Note5 at first i tried to clear cache using a program in my computer and when it restated in the upper left corner it appear Custom Binary Blocked By FRP Lock in red. then i tried to fix it using Odin3 and when it restarted first it show me the message of (an unauthorised attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings). and i connected to a WIFI to enter my google account i could enter because I do remember my account. but after i enter there were 2 problems, first where the signal bars suppose to be there is a symbol of Prohibition ( 🚫 ) and it says that there is no Sim card when it has one inside already i tied to take it out and put it back in restart my phone but nothing it still doesn't recognize my SIM card. (But when i factory reset it i left the SIM card in. Could it be that it corrupted the SIM's Chip, is that a possible thing to happen?). The other is that it says that the internal memory is 16GB when it is of 32GB. I tried to manually put the APN but when i hit Save. It said that the action was prohibit because current user profile is not authorized. Then i thought of the message that it first appear after i factory reset using Odin3. Maybe is still blocked and that's why it doesn't recognize the SIM card and the 16GB instead of 32GB of storage space. Do you think that if i factory reset using recovery mode directly on the phone, it will corrupt the system in any way because of the message of the (unauthorised attempt has been made.....) because this is my doubt. and the only solution i can find now is to Factory Reset the phone using Recovery Mode directly on the phone because i will not use a program again because that gave me this problem. The issue arises when the apps are designed for the most current OS and thus can't appropriately function on older OS. Issues like your alarms not going off in the morning, apps crashing in the background so on and so forth.

Im locked out of my own phone: forgot the lock screen pwd and lost my info on the gmail account I set up on the phone. I didn't enter any recovery info or a phone number. But I had always reset when I had issues, even just last year, and never heard anything about needing to know pwds when resetting. I reset my phone BECAUSE I forgot the pwd. Imagine my surprise when all I did was simply erase all my information and didn't know to reset google password before resetting phone :( No one told me nor did I get any notification on this. All this did in this case is lock out the original owner.
Just be careful that install the correct one for your phone but that should work. It usually removes everything currently on the phone and puts the new software on.

If you have verification documents that you own the device U Break I Fix can bypass it for you. It most likely will be the original email address that was signed into the phone.

It is not asking for a new email address. The only email address that will work is the one originally put on the phone.

By the time the vast majority of users find out they have FRP enabled, and naturally have forgotten which Google account they used to log into the phone or tablet, they can't turn off FRP, and the phone or tablet is useless. The FRP system completely misunderstands the ability of ordinary device users.

Traded in a pixel phone followed the instructions they sent in the box. Had no idea it was locked I followed their instructions to factory reset it. Now they send me an email instead of getting $380 back in a trade in I get $60 because it's a paper weight. They refuse to send it back to me so I can remove the account. Don't trade in a phone unless you make sure 100% there is no account associated with it. I'm not in favor of these schemes rather have it just factory reset and now the phone can used by anyone. People don't remember these account passwords.
What's crazy is I have previously worked in the cell phone industry (I used to buy phones from people and resell them overseas etc.) Anyway, Google should totally be sued for this nonsense, it should be up to the carrier to disable a phone NOT Google! If I do a cache wipe and hard reset on a device (that is NOT stolen) and all of the personal info is removed, I should be able to use the device. Many people cannot remember or don't have the time to give me the correct information to use the phone so I throw it in the trash when it could have a useful life of many years. I have thrown countless phones into the garbage that are perfectly good phones but don't want to mess with it. I don't mind, but you think this would be adding so much pollution that is unnecessary. Anyway, apparently Google thinks they are cool by doing this but are ultimately adding TONS of pollution to our landfills over this. IMEI blocking should only be at the carrier's discretion or the insurance company discretion (Asurion / Assurant) once the google info is removed, they should have absolutely no say so over the device WHATSOEVER. Nonsense.

Are you REALLY sure that 'any Gmail account and PW will work? I ask because you start by saying 'the one that was originally used when you got the phone" , then as an after thought you add " or other Gmail accounts that have been added to the phone." Id be great if it was BOTH, especially the latter. but I am skeptical because of what I hear from other sources.

nah, I run a tech donation center for people who have been suddenly displaced and need help getting back on their feet.
I have 14 assorted tablets and phones that I can't wipe and fix because most users don't know this information, and don't wipe it the correct way (hard reset from the buttons causes FRP).
So I have usable devices, ready to go. but the software is locking me out, so i can't get devices into the hands who need them.
if i can't find a way to unlock these devices, they'll go into the landfill. just an absolute waste.
@@Nick-jf1il A family member was homeless and lost access to her gmail and phone number. So it's impossible for her to recover the gmail account and the phone is a brick because she can't remember the password/code. So it's basically a brick until I figure out a way to bypass this.

Yes, if you enter your pin too many times it will factory reset the phone. You could check Google Photos on the web to see if it has any photos backed up. You could also logon to www.google.com/android/find/ and change your pin on your phone.

Hello, I have a Samsung galaxy Note5 at first i tried to clear cache using a program in my computer and when it restated in the upper left corner it appear Custom Binary Blocked By FRP Lock in red. then i tried to fix it using Odin3 and when it restarted first it show me the message of (an unauthorised attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings). and i connected to a WIFI to enter my google account i could enter because I do remember my account. but after i enter there were 2 problems, first where the signal bars suppose to be there is a symbol of Prohibition ( 🚫 ) and it says that there is no Sim card when it has one inside already i tied to take it out and put it back in restart my phone but nothing it still doesn't recognize my SIM card. (But when i factory reset it i left the SIM card in. Could it be that it corrupted the SIM's Chip, is that a possible thing to happen?).
The other is that it says that the internal memory is 16GB when it is of 32GB.
I tried to manually put the APN but when i hit Save. It said that the action was prohibit because current user profile is not authorized. Then i thought of the message that it first appear after i factory reset using Odin3.
Maybe is still blocked and that's why it doesn't recognize the SIM card and the 16GB instead of 32GB of storage space.
Do you think that if i factory reset using recovery mode directly on the phone, it will corrupt the system in any way because of the message of the (unauthorised attempt has been made.....) because this is my doubt. and the only solution i can find now is to Factory Reset the phone using Recovery Mode directly on the phone because i will not use a program again because that gave me this problem.

zakaria louriki you're battery at this point is most likely near its end of life. What will undoubtedly happen is that apps in your phone will continue to follow their perspective update schedules. The issue arises when the apps are designed for the most current OS and thus can't appropriately function on older OS. Issues like your alarms not going off in the morning, apps crashing in the background so on and so forth.

Im locked out of my own phone: forgot the lock screen pwd and lost my info on the gmail account I set up on the phone. I didn't enter any recovery info or a phone number. But I had always reset when I had issues, even just last year, and never heard anything about needing to know pwds when resetting. I reset my phone BECAUSE I forgot the pwd. Imagine my surprise when all I did was simply erase all my information and didn't know to reset google password before resetting phone :( No one told me nor did I get any notification on this. All this did in this case is lock out the original owner.
It's so messed up. I don't understand how there is not a way for the orginal owner to access their phons's data.

Just be careful that install the correct one for your phone but that should work. It usually removes everything currently on the phone and puts the new software on.

If you have verification documents that you own the device U Break I Fix can bypass it for you. It most likely will be the original email address that was signed into the phone.

The software is for either Mac or Windows/PC. I repair Samsung and iphone devices so it was worth it to me because I had like 5 phones to unlock from Ebay.
