Repentance is not work. Repentance from the Greek word metaneo, means to have a change of mindset, to change the way you think or perceive things. So when you repent, it simply means you should change your mind about a particular thing. I hope this helps.

If you continue in a sin that the Bible clearly says will lead you to hell, and you genuinely want to quit doing it, if you’re down on your knees begging God to deliver you from it, ask him for a heart of repentance. Ask him to make you born again, a creature that is new, ask him not to leave you to your sin but to deliver you out of it, for you cannot do it on your own. Thats the whole point. Coming to the end of yourself realizing that you want it, but you cannot obtain it. That’s where he brings you into the new life. Do not stop going after it. Do not stop asking him. And once he gives it to you; you’ll know it. It’s amazing.

You will know when you have repented and God has sent you the Holy Spirit according to his promise. The Holy Spirit empowers you to live with a pure heart and have self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

I needed this video! I watch a movie, which was NOT a Christian-styled movie and felt serious conviction. I’ve been struggling with lust and porn, and just stumbled upon this video after searching “how to fight sin”. I realized that I hadn’t been doing anything to get rid of this addiction, but rather just adapted to it. I truly want it out. Thank you Holy Spirit for this conviction and have mercy on me, Lord! ❤🙏

He makes me whole, He enlightens my heart, time disappears when I am alone with Him, everything else disappears when I am alone with Him. He silences all other voices when He speaks to me. My life is flourishing because of Him, He has given me a new heart a new life. He purifies my soul, my thoughts, my heart and life. Without Him, I am lost. I was the sheep that had gone wild, but He found me. He is the light I walk in, He is the eternal source. He knew me before I was born, He loved me before I was born. Yes He sees my thoughts and motives, yes He sees every step I take. His love surpasses all understanding, and NOTHING can be compared to Him, He is the only one who can save our soul, and He loved me before I loved Him ...... His name is Jesus Christ ❤️

I asked for prayers to break addiction and I renounced smoking after 34 years, before I repented. I knew I needed to stop, but wasn’t really ready to commit, which has made me fight myself on this issue. I feel guilty for still wanting to smoke. God answered and I made it 8 days the first time, then on the 9th day i went backwards and haven’t been the same since. I went through a couple of packs then quit again, and now, it’s been 30 days.All Glory to God. Even today I struggle with cravings. 🙌 when I am weak He is strong! I still pray for forgiveness for going backwards and for lying to myself. Thank You Lord for those who prayed with and for me. God Bless

We talk about repentance and wanting to overcome our flesh which is completely possible only through the Holy Spirit. Not saying that I have accomplished this but it can be done. So with that being said did you ever stop to think that maybe this person has. Although we may sin not knowing or accidentally this person mentioned habitual sin. Chew on that food for thought before you judge.

@@ottobthomas6254 It has to be possible. Unless Jesus asked us to do something impossible which he didn't and wouldn't. I find myself asking the same thing and this is the conclusion I've come to. It is possible but not necessarily with our current lifestyle, mindset, friend group, entertainment etc. I think that in order for us to really stop sinning we have to recognize that we must be willing to give up and lose all the things I mentioned about if they don't align with our walk with God. We have to be honest about it too. Being lukewarm is worse than cold because we even confuse ourselves about where we stand because we are double minded.

Our soul is made up of our thoughts and emotions. Though you may be born again, your mind may still be bombarded with a lot of impure thoughts and could be very frustrating but what you will need is not just prayers but as Romans 12.2 says,Rom.12.2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Your mind must be renewed and this is the salvation of your soul. Our minds are renewed primarily by the continuous entrance of the true word of God and prayers and also good company which includes watching what you listen to or feed your eyes on.

I admitted my involvement in the things I did and now I guard my heart and remember what I said to him by acknowledge It once had a hold on me and now I just submitted myself to God and resist the devil and he has to flee, it starts with a thought and that's when I take that thought captive and place it under the obedience of Christ determined that I'm not going back to the way I used to be because I made a decision to follow the Holy Spirit and cast all my cares on the Lord that way the triggers that aided in the sin will have no power and now I could truly say I could do all things through Christ who strengthens me and Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. Therefore I can truly say I've been born again because every thing in life seems new it's like I just began to live.

Thank you Sir! Now i know what to do, it gave me more clarity about true repentance, i’ve broken my 2 month streak about not watching pornography and i’ve fallen again today, i confess immediately by going to a mass and sometimes what i do when i’m tempted is by praying in the moment and letting myself filled with the holy spirit it really works but today i intentionally fell back where i started. To all who are struggling like me please don’t fall into despair, let God control your life and let go of your will but His will be done, it’s very hard but it’s a lifelong battle we have to fight and Jesus already won by shedding His blood for our sins. Don’t give up guys!

Dear lord, I am not worth a creation dying for, I couldn't even help my self not dishonor you again and again. I have put dirt on your kingdom that is in me. I just prayed to the Lord saying that I don’t know what true repentance is and I need His help for true repentance and I was just scrolling and found this video. Ask God for wisdom and understanding, and don't doubt that He will answer you. You must agree to submit to God and not be double-minded about that.

If you have repented like the Bible teaches repentance, you will get saved from sin (Matthew 1:21). You will be put on a path of living in obedience to God (doing his will -- the opposite of sinning). That is a path you need to stay on to be saved in the end because you need to live your life for God faithfully until the end. You will know when you have repented and God has sent you the Holy Spirit according to his promise. The Holy Spirit empowers you to live with a pure heart and have self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

I love the saying that godly sorrow work is repentance. I love the way Paul said in second Timothy. The servant of the Lord must be kind and gentle instructing those that are in opposition to themselves. If God, perhaps, we’ll give them to give to repentance so that they can come to the acknowledgment of the truth and that they might come to their senses. And escape from the snare of the devil haven been taken captive by Satan to do his will. just one thing that I have learned that repentance is a gift from God. It is not something that we can work up in our own sorrow. It is God derived God initiated, and God completed, and by his strength we can do all things.
