I have tall turf fescue mixed in with my lawn , and it turns out i have Kikuyo as well! , in los angles ( transition zone ) what do u suggest to help this Kikuyu hrass ro wake up and spread? Its been 5 yrs at this home but i dont see it progressing :/
Hi, can you scarify the Kikuyo? I've it in my garden but I can see a lot of death kikuyo underneath, I never scarified my grass. I'm now learning more about grass caring, but I don't know if I scarify it I will kill the good kikuyo, because the runners go horizontally, and I might kill all of it?
Nonsense..who told you that's what it's called. There's no name like kikuyu grass or however you pronounce. It has a name but not that one, someone lied to you

How do you kill it?
When should you start to see an actual blade of grass when planted from seed?
Really depends on what lawn seed, but generally if it is warm you should see germination within a couple of weeks.
Pronounced: Kee Kuyu
Can you transplant kikuyu runners?
Yup
Glad to hear such review , being a Kenyan the home of Kikuyu grass..
You certainly can, best to do it in Spring/ Summer and keep them well watered.
It’s Ki ku yu not Kai Ku Yu🙈

There is .That is a traditional /common grass in central Kenya .it takes the name from where it originated or mainly found.
@@Nature_corner254 Am a Kikuyu, I've forgotten the real name of that grass
Scientific name is pennisetum clandestinum or is it the one goes by the word (wītima) 😂
There are others like thangari and ngothe but those are weeds
