The thing I liked the most about mechabellum was that it felt like a slow, turn based fighting game. You're both throwing out moves and playing footsie with unit positioning and moving back and forth, with big payoffs for predicting your opponents move and countering them. That kind of gameplay is normal at the high level, but mechabellum's slower pace gives access to it to even low level players as a core feature. Its really cool.
Something I always appreciate about you doing these kinds of videos is you're able to bring a mechanical understanding of games and explain them to the viewer. It really helps to get an idea of how the game itself works, and not just some visuals and a "hype cast". I would be happy to see more videos like this and even the occasional video on Mechabellum itself. I think you should find a balance in doing whatever content you'd most enjoy. That being said I understand the necessity to careful craft your video output and development around the community at large and the algorithm's interpretation of your channel and its content. So whatever you choose to do I'll still be watching.
@@PiGstarcraft Sure thing! I think if RTS/Strategy games are going to gain any traction it'll be greatly assisted by RUclipsrs like yourself exposing a wider audience to them and showing us what it's about. But I do know enough about RUclips to know the risks involved with trying to diversify your content or more specifically straying from the standard. I know it might not have been the most useful response - "do whatever makes you happy!" - Just wanted to say I appreciate this video and would love to see more like it, but will understand and not hold it against you if that doesn't pan out.
A minor thing is that when you do the first round they have "default deployment" options which are actually taken from high level players. You can also "enter" a replay and make a different decision to see what you should have done to win a round.
Educasting, it's like regular casting, where you point out exactly what's happening in the game, but you also get to explain the gameplay and mechanics along the way. I mean, I liked it, I'm probably buying the game, what's up.
Aaah yessss. Another of my favorite content creators falls victim to the mechabellum bug >:] got multiple of my old starcraft buddies into this game and they're all addicted lol also, starcraft background music goes hard while playing mechabellum. BW terran tracks especially
I've been enjoying the heck out of this too, I love how I can play it without my soup getting cold while I frantically lose for 30 minutes. I can eat my soup *while* I lose
Yeah! I love videos like this. Honestly I watch more mechabellum from grubby than his wc3 anymore. Would really enjoy seeing some of your journey through this game too.
Really enjoying mechabellum. Got my housemate to get a copy and we're really enjoying the 2v2. The community is awesome! I played a ton of mtg arena and pvp was so stressful and with the rng i would always tilt. I've a couple of hundred games in now, and its so fun I don't mind when I lose. I've only rage-quit once at some cheeky shenanigans. Great game.
Neat. I haven't played since early access. I like the UI changes they ended up with. Some new units I don't recognize too. I'd love to see some videos on this.
A very refreshing contrast to the proposed Battle Aces monetization. $15 for a great game where you get almost all the strategic and fun components from the beginning, and if you like it you can spend a couple dollars here and there for fun cosmetics that aren't overbearing. Really feels like they hit a great balance for this game
Friend and me got an inside joke :D It's called Rhino POV, it's when u get dropped a high lvl rank rhino from a card and flank with it u have to watch the round from the rhinos perspective xD love it
I never really go looking for auto battlers but I've played a couple and I always enjoy my time in them for at least a few days. This one easily looks the best out of the ones I've seen.
The only thing i don't like about Mechabellum is that i am not a competitive person. edit: but that's what YT is for, right? So, more Mechabellum please!
i havent played mechabellum for about a year now! just took a look every once in a while! i prolly give it a try again now! jsut to hopefully meet u on the ladder to have a fanboymoment =D u played awesome that round! maybe u shouldve upgrade ur units on the right side a lil more! it can scale very well!
Also, it was satisfying to get a fair chance to do some strategizing and get to a high mmr after suffering for thousands of hours in sc2 with my crab hands lmao
It's good to pick up just to play practice mode and mess around, I've got like 100 hours and haven't touched multiplayer. Now that the big changes are over it's kinda meh but yeah cool game. Was hoping for a bit more single player focus
Oh boy, less SC2-content to come from PiG? 😏 VIBE also is addicted to this game, maybe RTS-players are drawn to it? It seems hihgly addictive to me but I haven't played it yet, I have enough time-soaks at the moment, maybe years from now.
Wow, that was an intense game. A little too much to learn for my taste - I guess I'll continue to play BG3 and Stellaris, that's easier^^ Edit: Oh, and I'd definitly like more videos!
I think whats great is myself and many others had just as much fun when we were 500 elo and only using 1/4 mechanics in the game it was still addictive and incredibly fun
I would be happy if you could show one or two more games. You don't have to be locked into SC2 only, in my opinion. I am thinking about the game, if I should get into this, but it kind of seems like it's one of the snowbally games which will spiral out of control if you made a misplay. It looks like you're locked into the misplay then, snowballing into no-fun-territory.
have u ever played "Legion TD 2"? its based on a old wc3-td-map, very nicely balanced and highly competitive! just to give u ur next addictionproblem xD
This game was better a year ago before the chaos update. Devs should offer both gamemodes, but they don't listen. Endless nerfs and buffs under the flag of balancing appears to be their business model to keep players engaged.
There were cards but far less (not each round) and less frequent and never double. They were also available to both players. Reinforcement cards of various level units didn't exist. So the fun in that kind of game was far more focussed on the units you picked and how you positioned them on the map. I know it sounds bad, but that old version of the game just had a different (better) strategic feel to it.
I think aggros a bit weaker then standard right now but i do feel like it takes some knowledge and prep to counter. I still struggle vs alot of aggressive builds
Ugh, auto battler... What happened with Beyond All Reason? Of all the other recent strategy games, BAR is the only one that piqued my interest as high as AoE4 did for example.
PIG doing Mechabellum content, what a time to be alive
It's really cool how autobattlers, TDs, and mobas all came out of the rts custom game scene.

100% - i think thats why both my casual as well as pro friends are all hooked on this game

Thanks for the video Pig! More mechabellum!
It looks fun, pig. Give us more Mechabellum please.
I really like you as a content creator and would be thrilled to get Mechabellum content from you. Cheers all the love

I would love to see more of this content and other games you enjoy, breakdowns, strategies, live games, everything you mentioned 😊
I would both like to see more mechabellum, and showcases of games you like!
Damn you Pig for introducing me to this game. Addicted already
Neat. I haven't played since early access. I like the UI changes they ended up with. Some new units I don't recognize too.
I'd love to see some videos on this.
gotta say watching you play this on stream made me really wanna try it! it looks great
Pitch perfect demo cast, super into trying this game I’ve never heard of! Thanks PiG!
Since I play a lot of Direct Strike on SC2, an autobattler like Mechabellum does sound super-interesting. Been meaning to check this game out.

I have crippling mechabellum addiction send help
When I first played this, i was hooked. Must have played 10x 16hr days in a row
28:10 yeah like these kinda videos
No idea how well these are doing but i would love to see more mechabellum videos!
Friend and me got an inside joke :D It's called Rhino POV, it's when u get dropped a high lvl rank rhino from a card and flank with it u have to watch the round from the rhinos perspective xD love it
Good recommendation. I tried it and it was fun! Thanks for sharing!
so glad you like this game hope we get pig guides about this game

You can chill in 2vs2 games with friends
Love this video! I would love to see more mechabellum matches.
I'm love the variety stuff. This and the Ants game were great.
Great game, great match, great commentary ❤
Yeah, Mechabellum is easily one of the best games I have played recently. Will definitely come back to it again.
This game looks far more interesting than I'd originally thought. Might have to pick it up sometime soon. Cheers!
And yes, please do cast some more games from Mechabellum
Awesome, please cast games on mechabellum!!
What you mean. Vibe is always in this game since age ago.
Ive only played since full release so just catching up with the hype train!
Mate it is such a good game!! I love your work!!

Now the same video for ZeroSpace PIG :) Since you are consultant on it, can't wait for your content !
Perfect game as I begin to get deeper into my 30's 😂
100% my dad friends love it lol

u played awesome that round! maybe u shouldve upgrade ur units on the right side a lil more! it can scale very well!
Yeah a few more upgrades on that right could have really helped. Hope to see you on the ladder mate!
its really good, they should make an RTS mode
Best auto battler ive ever played, only probably played direct strike more!
Also, it was satisfying to get a fair chance to do some strategizing and get to a high mmr after suffering for thousands of hours in sc2 with my crab hands lmao
I want to see more of this
I’m currently fully addicted to this game.
Feel free to commentate some of your ladder game in Mechabellum =) it shows you love the game so it is enjoyable to wathc

110% ok with this kind of video imma get this game thank u
Its a great game, the 4 player ffa is really good.

I've been addicted for most of the summer, even got to top 100 on 501, but now I don't really have time for all that.
18:50 cleansing steel balls ehh?
This looks very cool.
It's sooooooo good I'm totally addicted. Cheap too there's no excuse
Finally!!!!!! Welcome!
Wow, that was an intense game.

I WANT THIS GAME !
189 hours here, cannot agree more.
🤓 Blue balls good. Got it
have u ever played "Legion TD 2"?
its based on a old wc3-td-map, very nicely balanced and highly competitive! just to give u ur next addictionproblem xD
Never got into legion td but one to add to the list :)
@@PiGstarcraft try it and ... PLSPLSPLS make a video of it! =D
please cast some kebabsniffer games
might be a great autobattler, no rts tho. no base building, no micro.... it's just an autobattler
“just”?
Yep, best one I've played by far though!
it's good, at least for me

I wish it'd come to mobile
Stopped playing this game because of sudden flank deployment moments which are mostly uncounterable
I think aggros a bit weaker then standard right now but i do feel like it takes some knowledge and prep to counter. I still struggle vs alot of aggressive builds
Give me more please
So much for Stormgate...that did not last long lol
Ugh, auto battler... What happened with Beyond All Reason? Of all the other recent strategy games, BAR is the only one that piqued my interest as high as AoE4 did for example.
I played a few games but BAR didn't click for me like other RTS, think i need more games to learn it since it's so different to the RTS I've played
So it is Backpack Brawl but played out as a bad RTS... 😂
And it is hands down the best game on the market ATM.
