프로듀서 라이언 전의 또 하나의 획기적 승부수, ‘VAV’ [FLOWER] 앨범 공개!
지난 2월 첫 번째 싱글 앨범 [VENUS]로 새로운 시작을 알린 ‘VAV’가 5월 3일 [FLOWER]로 기습 컴백을 한다. [VENUS] 활동이 끝난 지 얼마 되지 않았지만 대중들과 좀 더 활발히 소통하고자 틈틈이 준비한 이번 [FLOWER] 앨범을 통해 ‘VAV’는 이전과는 180도 다른 매력을 보여주고 있다.
‘VAV’의 신곡 “FLOWER”는 지난 “비너스 (Dance With Me)”의 작곡가였던 히트 프로듀서 ‘라이언 전’과 그의 사단이 다시 한 번 ‘VAV’를 위해 뭉쳐서 작업한 미디엄 템포 댄스곡으로, 레게 (Reggae) 리듬을 기반으로 정교하게 짜여진 멜로디, 그리고 한 번 들으면 잊을 수 없는 중독성 강한 훅(Hook)까지 대중들의 마음을 사로잡을 준비를 마쳤다.
“FLOWER” 에서 ‘VAV’는 다가온 이별 앞에서 아직은 포기하지 못하는 남자를 연기하는데, 특히 “꽃잎을 다 셀 때 까지만’이라도 말을 들어달라는 디테일한 가사 또한 곡의 섬세한 분위기를 더하고 있다. 또한 멤버 ‘에이노’가 직접 랩파트 가사에 참여하여 완성도를 높였으며 앞으로의 행보에 기대를 부르고 있다.
최근 ‘프로듀스 101 시즌 2’의 메인 타이틀곡 “나야 나 (PICK ME)” 를 통해 또 한 번 히트 프로듀서로 자리매김한 작곡가 ‘라이언 전’은 이번 “FLOWER” 녹음이 끝난 후에도 편곡을 여러번 수정하여 마지막까지 곡의 완성도를 높이고자 하였으며, 앨범 컨셉부터 연기방향까지 세심한 디렉팅을 통해 ’VAV’ 의 새로운 시도에 최선을 다했다.

I'm so glad I didn't give up on VAV too early because this song and Dance with me are 2 of my favorite Kpop songs. (They're always on replay on my playlist). They improved so much and got a new producer that really showcase their talents. I really hope they go on Weekly Idol to promote their songs and gain more recognition.
The decision to get new members and new producer was good. I'm happy they are rising nowadays!

Underdeveloped? The songs were badly mixed, but they were not underdeveloped. If you heard them sing just for fun or acoustic you could clearly tell that much. And their choreos weren't bad so I don't really see what makes their dancing underdeveloped.
