Steve and Cassie were a great addition to LS for sure. Tommy was about to be replaced in 1977 with another Gaines on drums. That would have been another great addition. Just remember, without Ed King, we wouldn't have the greatest Southern rock anthem of all time, Sweet Home Alabama.

I am a Skynyrd fan from back in the early 70's when they first started releasing their music. As a rule, I do not care for rap music at all. I will say that Jelly Roll has my attention and has earned my respect for his humbleness, and his respect for those who blazed the path before his time to take the spotlight. If you haven't seen it, look up Jelly Roll's appearance in Congress talking about drugs. This young man has lived it and also has his shit together. I am a fan. Finally, God bless the memory of all those who have been a part of the Lynyrd Skynyrd family.

If everyone understood Skynyrd like Jelly Roll does then a lot of haters would quit hating and I'm yet to ever hear any Skynyrd members say they're actually Legitimate Skynyrd members. They're not trying to replace Ronnie, Allen or Stevie or Cassie and the question I've come to ask people is , What would Ronnie Van Zant think about some of the remarks that's been made about his little brother that just stepped up and just trying to keep Skynyrd Nation Alive ? Knowing what little bit I've read and heard, I don't think he'd be to happy with some of the supposed to be Skynyrd fans ! Your either Skynyrd Nation or your not !

This just shows you how legendary jelly not jus is but is also going to be. Obviously these absolute legends are picking him to spend some of their last performances with to also use him to bridge the gap between their era and the new… even tho there hits are timeless!!!! One of the first songs I remember actually finding on my own when I was 7 was ballad of Curtis Lowe by skynryd. They will continue to speak to new generations but to the ones they might not have gotten to yet jelly will be there to bridge that and let them know how influential they were!!! That is one awesome pat on the back for jelly roll and he for sure deserves it! I have been listening to him since he mostly did rap and I love all the ways he is going

That big hole in Trigger came in the early 70’s, and eventually Willie had to give up picks partly due to his liking the sound of his fingers and and also to help preserve the soundboard on Trigger, Mark Erlewhine does excellent work in keeping Trigger going, and has since the 70’s.

I wish I could’ve seen Waylon before he passed. He died in Feb 2002 if I remember correctly and I first started getting into his music (his style, humor, legendary stories and outlaw ways) at some point in 1999. I was about 26-27 years old at that point. About 95% of my musical tastes came directly from years of digging through my dads old album collection. My mother (they were divorced) actually had an even larger collection. Each respective collection primarily centered around “Classic Rock” ( Mid 1960’s to Early 1980’s ). Through these 2 collections I discovered The Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Zeppelin...
The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros, Cream, Traffic, Blind Faith, Free, Wings, Bowie, T-Rex, The Kinks, Yardbirds, J. Winter, Joplin,
The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Santana, Neil Young,
Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, CSNY, America, The Eagles, Heart, Bad Company, Dire Straits, JJ Cale,
Leon Russell OK OK OK I zoned out there... So anyway up until 1999 my musical tastes were purely, 110% ROCK and Rock ONLY. One dad I got to looking at this album... I recognized the name, but knew very very little about him besides him being a part of my #1 favorite show as a kid... The Dukes of Hazzard.
So as I studied this album called Ramblin Man (I wondered if there was any connection to the ABBs song “Ramblin Man”). I looked at this guys rough face, long messy hair, his eyes .... WOW I could tell this man had seen A LOT. Looking again at the tracks I see ‘Midnight Rider’ now I KNOW this is a cover of an ABB classic (ironically Ramblin Man turned out to be totally unrelated to the Dickey Betts classic). I started out infatuated with Waylons version of Midnight Rider. Bit by bit I began to like nearly every track on the album. Before long I’ve bought the CDs
    -Dreaming my Dreams
    -Honky Tonk Heroes
    -I’ve Always Been Crazy
And many others. I couldn’t get enough of Waylon GD Jennings.
He was the very first NON-Rocker musician that I’d ever become interested in. Honestly though a large % of Waylons songs consist of that highly potent thumping bass. Ritchie Albright on drums playing a very RnR style of drumming. Ralph Mooney ... in my opinion the best Steel guitarist that there’s ever been. For being considered Country music, more specifically “Outlaw Country” Waylons style of music straight up FN ROCKS. Songs like:
    -Waymores Blues
    -Ain’t No God in Mexico
    -Outlaw Bit (for short)
    -Midnight Rider (ABB cover)
    -This Time
    -A Long Time Ago
-Are you sure Hank done it this way
    -Honky Tonk Heroes
    -Ramblin Man
    -Black Rose
    -I’ve Always Been Crazy
    -Lonesome Onry’ & Mean
-I’ve Been a Long Time Leaving
    -Whistlers and Jugglers
    -It’s Alright
    -Clyde
    -All Around Cowboy
    -Can’t You See (MTB)
-Are you Ready for the Country (NY)
    -Never Been to Spain (H.Atkins)
    -Shine
    -Let Her do the Walkin
    -The Conversation (w/ Hank Jr)
-I Can Get Off on You (w/ Willie)
-Ain’t No Good Chain Gang (Cash)
    -Good Hearted Woman (w/ Willie)
    -Heaven & Hell (w/ Willie)
    -Never Could Toe the Mark
    -The Gemini Song
    -Fancy Free
-Women do know how to carry on
-Turn Back the Years (Hank Sr)

Been racing at that track for 20 years or so and never knew it was that close to the crash site until they built a monument down the road for them I’ve been pushing the track to do some kind of memorial event with the monument to help keep it around since it’s an all volunteer effort

In 1977 dayton ohio Brown Street was the place to go after shows. My new husband Richard & I were @ The Mare's Head. I heard Skynnerd was in the house after the concert.(we didnt go) My husband & I somehow ended up hanging w/them & next thing I know we were out front & a van was at the curb & I was saying gbye to my husband as he climbed in & Gary Rossington told me dont worry we'll take care of him. See you in a few days. Sure enough a few days later My ex showed up & had stories. Those were days when bands flowed in & out down there. Now its all college shops. I will never forget that. 47 years ago

Jelly Roll 1st off your living proof God has a plan. The greatest thing in life we can do is use our past to effect good change in someone's future. I've known many people throughout my life in the industry. Came from a very musical family. Singings My thing. My Daddy passed in 2022 & shared Sam Samudios home during a travel time w/his job. I still speak w/he n Anne on occasion. Sweet good man. I pray blessings on your path. Keep looking up. Tell your story a million times. You never know who your affecting. Love your heart.

Like Keith Richards says " it's the ancient art of waving" guitars. That's rock n roll.

Allen Collins killing it there with Steve Gaines! So sad no original members in the band anymore. They should at least get Artimus Pyle back for some authenticity! The greatest band of all time in my opinion. Ronnie's lyrics with 3 lead guitarists, Leon's bass lines,,,,too good

I was at That Show up Front, the only reason I went was to see Willy because I know he is Older. But Brother Willy played a 30 minute show Then You Big Fella You played a Two Hour Show Non stop pounding it. My Wife was a Huge Fan so naturally she want to be there for You. But after the Songs you pumped were Amazing. Thank You For Doing Such a Show at Our Local Casino. They have had some True Superstars in Country there. I have seen George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride, Sammy Kershaw, and a Few Others.
