One that I unfortunately learned the hard way (to be fair, 2 mechanics diagnosed it as a bad water pump). Pop open the water reservoir, give it a sniff. If it has even a hint of exhaust you probably have a cracked head gasket.
What I’ve noticed many times is people not properly burping the cooling system. There’s an air pocket around temp sensor so cooling fans don’t get triggering to turn on.
You want to check the most obvious and least expensive to replace. So I’d check the thermostat, fluid being full, water pump, and then radiator. Also check to make sure the fans are working.
Just received my front and rear brake rotors and pads from you guys yesterday. Can’t wait to install them and see what they do. Also about to order plugs and coils for both my cars, probably within the next few days. Prices seem pretty reasonable in my opinion. Just hope the products are solid. Chose to go with you guys over Rock Auto.
Had the 2000 ranger for many years and the only time the temperature hand goes up, is if the outside temperature is above 80 degrees and only if it's idling to much at drive thru's or red-lights.
Some more possible obvious symptoms of bad/stuck radiator (which I had): 1) radiator fan working almost constantly while the truck is running; 2) the radiator does not radiate the heat effectively- you stop feeling the heat from under the grill after driving.
I have a 2000 Camry LE 4 cycylinder that was given to me by my late cousin it was his father's Camry. My cousin told me that he changed the radiator but I'm not so sure. I had to get a new radiator cap for the Camry. I also got the coolant sensor and switch for the Camry. Of course there aftermarket. The OEM ones would've cost me well over $700.00. So I bought the aftermarket ones and put them in myself. They both have a lifetime warranty from O'Reilly's. So far so good. The brackets that hold the radiator in place need to be changed as well. They are rusting. The coolant in the radiator is a brown color it needs to be changed. Parts of the old radiator cap broke off into the radiator. This has me worried. I put on a new radiator cap. I think all of the fluids in the Camry need to be changed. Steering, brake, transmission, and coolant. The air conditioning fluid needs to be checked also. My late cousin gave me this Camry with a lot of problems. I have put over $7000.00 into the Camry so far. I can't afford to get a newer car and I won't have a electric vehicle no way. The Camry is a challenge but that's what I like. Thanks much for your video.
Maybe I misunderstood the way you phrased the sentence, but at about 4:40 you say that the fan pushes air onto the radiator, isn't it meant to actually pull air, not push?
I recently replaced a temp sensor on a 04 Honda Civic LX but customer says it's still running hot and has to engage the ac i told him we need to Wash the radiator and go from there has yet to be done
I just bought my first 02land rover freelander se2.5 v6 the lady i bought it from said it overheated on her and her son said he put on a new cap so it kept over heating so i got it home the cap reads 200 and he put the wrong cap with the wrong threads and the cap was on the resavor cross threaded and i filled it res and water was blowing out of the res. And that's when i found the wrong cap the wrong temp on the cap wrong threads and the the cap was so tight on the res and offset so when i go to O'Reilly's tomorrow they have what i need ps.what is the temp on the cap have fun. Fred
I had to drain my coolant and run regular water for now cause the coolant was slowly getting consumed and I wasn't going to waste money on coolant so till I decide to do something regular water is doing well
WRONG! ,,, low pressure rinse only. NO HAMMERING!!! Correct hand tools only. With her instructions you’ll be needing to buy a radiator, water pump, fan clutch. Maybe because they sell parts.?.

This video came right on time. Thank you so much. God bless you!

Great analysis but what about ELECTRIC fans? 🤔

This guy really knows his stuff.

Don't forget radiator & coolant reservoir cap people overlook them too!!!
Yep belt should twist like that not all the way around
Could I use this Rust-Oleum 344713 Automotive 2-In-1 Rust Reform & Seal Spray to undercoat the inside of my rockers before I put new ones on ?
I thought the fan blade pulls air through the radiator hence the shroud it's in and the air dams around the sides too
And I'm always cleaning my radiator and ac condenser too
What about code 128 with cold Temps and a second new thermostat...
I recently replaced a temp sensor on a 04 Honda Civic LX but customer says it's still running hot and has to engage the ac i told him we need to Wash the radiator and go from there has yet to be done

How common it would be head gasket leak
