- Barrington Tops National park NSW. For months now the girls have been begging me to take them camping, thanks to Covid lock downs this hasn’t been possible.
After having a week of rain we decided to take the risk and check out the Barrington Tops. Unfortunately it ended up raining and was freezing. This didn’t stop us from exploring and having a good time.
We checked out the Firs pine forest, some of the awesome campgrounds. Polblue campground, Little Murry campground and the Junction Pools.
The Barrington Trail was open so we decided to check it out. As far from a hard 4wd track as you can get, but still a good drive for the scenery and destinations.
I went for a look down Little Murrays and Junction Pools in late Feb this year and I was about the same weather as you had. It was absolutely stunning being up there and amongst the clouds. I'm sure it also beautiful in the sunlight and in the snow although that trail is closed then.
I hadn’t been down there in years it was good to go for a look again
That patrol sounds sweeeettttt
Thanks mate ✌️
That bush with yellow flowers is Scotch Broom, an invasive pest plant on Barrington Tops.
There you go, it was everywhere up there
That looks completely different compared to when it is covered in snow. It's awesome up there though.
I haven’t do the snow for a few years now, I definitely need to spend more time up there
@@HappyGoTravel a good trail is called wild turkey rd in the barrington tops, it's alot better in the snow but has a few good sections with chicken tracks
Hey, why was your tire pressure warning light solidly lid on your dash? (3:00)
Looks great. Do you think a Prado with stock AT tyres would get through that mud OK? Could you get out with MaxTrax or is it more of a winch/recovery gear type of track dependant on how much rain there is? Keen to take my little one but don't want to get stuck on his first adventure
Yeah definitely. The Barrington trail is easy. If you check out some of the unmarked tracks just be careful, there is some deep mud hole up there and real slippery stuff.
Mate, I go camping there regularly and you shouldn’t have any issues with most of the trails in the park. The state forest has more trails that require a lift and decent tyres. The centre section of the Barrington trail and paddy’s ridge should be fine for you, Gummi falls too . It’s a fun park to explore even with a stock vehicle. I did most of the tracks before mods in an FJ cruiser so don’t be afraid to get out and have look.👍
a bit wet ! looks good tho !
Very wet, I suppose it will be after a few weeks of rain though 🤣
