  • This sequence was used during my groom's speech at my wedding. It was displayed on the wall using a laser projector which I built myself. Here it is shown on an oscilloscope screen as my iphone cannot properly film the laser.
Note, the rendering on the oscilloscope screen isn't as good as the laser projector and the figures displayed are mirror images. The animation is pretty crude but this is the first project of this type I have ever created.
I will upload an annotated version (using the actual laser projector) in the future to explain some of the images. They are basically the story of how me and my wife met, with some 'sciency' stuff thrown in.

many years ago I worked in London. It was a sexure building. When answering the phone we were not permitted to drape the phone line over the computer keyboard. The reason was that previously a company had been sort of hacked by sitting outside in a van and using an oscilloscope and some wires and an aerial had managed to pick up what was on someone computer screen. So to be clear the oscilloscopes screen showed a proper picture. not blippy lines.

Excellent! You might like this video I did on a CRO of Jerobeam Fenderson's amazing CRO music graphics.

Good question...I can't really remember where I first saw this. Search for 'Lissajous curve' to get started - they are relatively easy to draw on a scope. I think I also took my idea from Jerobeam Fenderson, who was putting out some really high quality scope graphics around the time I made this.
