- Yoji Biomehanika!!! Kicking you with that hard trance style!!! I discovered this guy when I was 12 years old. It feels great to be able to listen to him live after all these years! This definitely made my night; his set, in my opinion, was worth more than the entire 2 days of Dreamstate. Recorded with high quality potato.

Blog notes: I only went to Dreamstate (Which is a trance music festival for anyone that's unaware) Friday only because I wasn't interested in the lineup for Saturday and I felt like working the next day. Yoji Biomehanika was my primary reason of going considering how rare he swings by my neck of the woods... that and a great dancer that I met through another festival invited me to swing on by. I drove all the way from Las Vegas (where I currently reside) around 3PM and arrived roughly around 7PM. I was mostly relaxing, hanging out with the said buddy mentioned above most of the time until Yoji played around 1AM... fast forward to this video, I stopped recording the remainder of his set because I wanted to dance hard from all that nostalgia feeling he gave me when I was a kid. After his set was done, I did not bother checking in a nearby hotel to rest, but immediately drove back to Las Vegas way past midnight nonstop and made it home in a safe matter with no signs of being tired. Thanks to everyone that I've interacted with at the event, Yoji himself, and anyone else that wanted to relive these memories.
It came to my attention that a lot of boomers are complaining about the lack of dancers and people bringing their phones. Let me make this clear since I've said this soooo many times to death, there were many people dancing and not using their phones that night. The ones really dancing are the shorter people that you cannot see in this video because they were being overshadowed by the taller people that was just standing there in this video's field of vision. I've only recorded to show this to a friend who wanted to go this event but couldn't make it. You still got a problem with that? Just reminisce elsewhere and go back to bed.

This is amazing! Sensation Black is what got me into so many great artists, especially Yoji. He is a true underappreciated legend and this set proves it.

I love that this concert was on my bday , I can see myself jamming there.
I flew from Sydney Australia to attend dreamstate socal. When i found out that yoji, scott project and kaitracid were all playing on this stage, i fucking freaked out!
not going to lie.. of the hundreds of events ive attended around the world since 2k, this was the best. it was a once in a life time event. The crowed was fucking awesome, there was a line a mile long to get inside, and it was fucking worth it.

I'm glad so many of us recorded this one. I, like you, mostly was there for Friday (Yoji, Johan G, and most of that Vision lineup). I'm glad you had a blast dude; to me, that is what trance music is the best at!

What you say about hearing Yoji in 2004. I'll probably say about Karney 15 years from now. Glad I got to see part of Yoji considering how rare he is to play... At all. I ended up going to Electric Universe part way through. But Yoji was super interesting. It was like watching an oldies classic with massive bass
I discovered him via the track "Brave Nu Charge" from the game SEGA Touring Car Championship
Seen him live (@ GGXH) with other old school hardheads like The Prophet and Scott Project, but Yojis’ set was divine (my favourite of the night). Listened to him a lot when I was well younger, shame his vibe is fairly niche in the grand scheme of things. But you never know, his style could re-ignite in the future and the kids will learn of this master :)

Wow, you are the real MVP! This is one of the sets everybody has been talking about. Sadly I missed it as I was pretty tired on Friday night and ended up leaving a little early to drive back home and rest up for Saturday. My friends went and had a blast thought. Glad you recorded it so I could at least listen to it here! Wish I stayed now :(

wow... i first saw him in 2005 at vancouver . then 2007 2008 at the same place. 10 yrs past now. thinking of the moment when he dropped ' fabio stein techtris ' track in 2007 at PNE still gives me goosebumps. blew my mind. got half yr searching for the track till i found. not enough ppl were talking about it. youtube was not at this quality back then. he is definitely legend dj of all time. hes so talented. lasting impression. @@roasty80 I don't know, but I think it's partially because today's styles of EDM (Complextro, dnb, hardcore, etc.) are a completely different world compared with this. They probably aren't used to these trancey styles that are found in Yoji's works.
I myself even tried to get my peers to actually appreciate the old-school bassy trance, but they retorted saying that it was "annoying" and gave them headaches. (Still not sure how they could enjoy modern stuff more than this)
Also, I can infer that many Gen Z people find music in the form of RUclips videos, games, etc. , therefore rendering them utterly clueless when given the task to actually *dance* in a crowd of people.
That's just my take on the weird audience.
