Law was not used in this case....and has NOT been used in any cases on uSA soil since 1789. < That is a Fact written i the "Law of Congress". The Legal Society is FORBIDDEN to practice Law. Attorneys and their LEGAL Society do not want the Public to learn the difference between Law and Legal...aka....State Codes and Statutes....aka...Color of Law...because if they did.....they would NOT be subject to those state codes and statutes. The reason the Cops and Courts can snatch us up and do as they please is because we are all under CONTRACT with the State....and 99% of people have no clue how it happened nor what the Contracts are.
I lived in Greenup County, Kentucky, for a shot while in the early 1980's. This is the first time I have learned of this story. I wonder if that poor child had any good days. We know it happens; but, I can't understand how anyone could treat anyone the way this poor little girl was treated. If Old Doc had not gone out of his way to report this, they would have gotten away with murder.
Like I just commented on your Facebook post about this, you did a very good job telling a cruel story. Thank you for helping to keep Mary's memory alive.
Thank you, I wrote this story, however, as you said, Marys story was widely published during the time and there are several articles and videos with their own takes on it
In my opinion, they did NOT get what they deserved. The mountain men should have had them, and tortured them as badly as they did Mary. For years until they died in horrific pain. As a father, nothing gets me more upset than when a child is abused... Or worse. The bible says (paraphrasing) eye for an eye. Everyone has a right to be treated fairly, but NOT when it comes to intentionally harming a child. Treat them the way they treated the child. It may not be a popular opinion, but I still feel like they didn't get what they deserved.
That truly breaks your heart for her.. 😢 everything she went through mentally and physically the pain omg she was a strong little girl. Rest in peace 🙏 Mary
another great video JD, when i was a kid people here in SC brought the dead home for a couple of days and sit them up in the living room in a casket while friends visited. the old folks in the house would sit up all night, it was called a sitting up, you sit up with the dead. today folks around here still call a funeral home visit, a sittin up,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Well said OlSkool... my father used to tell the story about when his father was murdered in the front yard, and they kept his body in the house til they buried him. My dad was 6 years old when it happened.
You should do the story of Little Annie from off Hazel mtn in VA.Same tale almost.Lil Annie went to school w my baby cousins her parents kept her tied her to a toddler bed, burnt her w cigarettes and put her in the dryer etc etc 😢My baby cousins had to go to their friends funeral, they where so tiny then.
That's awful, poor litttle Annie,, bless her soul. Some parents should NEVER be allowed to have children. When you think about all the good ones out in the world who would have loved and cherished her, not being able to have children of their own they let evil people keep breeding and abusing their little ones. Makes no sense at all?
JD, this story is one that will always stand out among all your other videos. Mary represents the many child abuse cases that unfortunately continue today. Thank you so much for remembering her birthday and sharing her story. Many thanks for all your videos and the work you put into them. God 🙏 bless 🙏.
It's amazing to me that tragedies like this go on for decades until one goes public and THEN the laws are changed or enacted. Things like this happened a lot with victims asking for help but the lawmen would say they couldn't do anything until a person actually killed someone. Then, its too late. Pretty much like today.
Good morning JD. Almost at a loss for words here. I’ll just start with Thank You! So much to unpack here. Sadly like so many abused children, Mary didn’t ask to be born into a situation where there was so much evil, hatred and darkness. She didn’t deserve that! Hopefully through your telling of her tragic story. Mary may possibly feel the heartfelt sympathy and love of all of your wonderful family that gather here together to enjoy to the stories you so artfully gift us with. (One of my mottos, never use a sentence where a paragraph will do) Only 100 years ago! People turned up from all over the country! Wether out of morbid curiosity, to pay their respects, or just to witness the spectacle. Amazing! And to think those hills were so sparsely populated to begin with. To have 1000 MEN enraged enough to go down enact justice? Different times nowadays for sure. So much for a loss for words, eh? But again as with all of the stories you bring us. I could feel the urgency, righteous anger, disgust and range of other emotions coming through your narration of this tragic tale. So gifted J D. God Bless You! And all the rest of the family here. Stay safe. I’m late for work! LOL going to listen to this again on the way in. See you next Saturday. Can’t wait. jj, out!
As is YT's wont, your channel popped up and I am so glad I watched it. I live in England but love stories of pioneers of America, Canada and Australia. A desperately sad story and one wonders, back in those days, how many children met the same fate but never discovered. And sadly, today, the murder of children is just as rife. That Frazier woman and Pitts were just pure evil, what that young child had to endure is sickening. That they received such short sentences is shocking but at least laws were made to safeguard children. Justice is slow to evolve. Thank you for this upload and I am going to watch a few more.
Thanks Lynne! Welcome to the channel. Very good question on wondering how many children met this same fate. I hold my breathe and guess untold numbers. For hundreds of years in Appalachia prior to 1900, a Childs main value was to work the farm or homestead, and many died in infancy. A child dying was very common and most folks never paid any mind unless the child was getting big enough to work... then folks would mumble under their breath "man, that's a shame..."
Oh wow my heart is broken for this poor little girl. My youngest grandson is 3 and if anyone hurt him nothing could hold me back from going after the ones who harmed him.
I really appreciate all the support you have given, really above and beyond anything I ever expected. There is a join button on each video- if you’d like to join- it gives folks access to videos before they are released, there are a couple different levels of memberships there. Terrible short life Mary had. So full of hate and horrific abuse! The father should have got the death penalty for sure! But another great story JD thank you, I’m sure researching these stories has to weigh on your heart. God Bless you!
Im glad you mentioned the death penalty Karen- So you see- In Kentucky, a white woman had never been electrocuted. And because she was tried first, she got life in prison. The fathers lawyers used that to their advantage and argued he shouldn't be electrocuted, thus his life was spared. Had he had been tried first, he would have burned 100% for sure.
As a father of my little girl, the sadness and rage I feel while watching this heartbreaking story, is almost overwhelming. It's sad that the judicial system of that time failed that little girl. Our system has become soft on these crimes, especially if you are famous or have money. Justice should always, without question, protect the children.
Thank you for sharing this story... Sad and terribly wrong cold blooded crime. They should have got life at the very least. Thank you again for the history lesson good teacher JD
This is without a doubt the most horrific case of child abuse I've ever heard of. My heart breaks for that child. I'm TRULY amazed that they weren't sentenced to death and that the mountain folk didn't lynch them, which I confess I hoped they would do.
Trust me, there are many many more. Still to this day just in my area of Oklahoma City you see these types of things from parents. Literally just read where the mother let the boyfriend come in and rape a 4-5 yr old. They starved her and beat her regularly. All the way to her death. Both are headed to prison for life, which is far less than they had coming
Thank you, JD. A terribly sad story, its impact still felt today. That poor darling child is now at peace and still receiving prayers from below. I offered mine today. I just finished your book, J.D. Thanks for autographing my copy before you mailed it! I started reading it while walking back from the mailbox to the house. Then I stayed up way past my normal bedtime reading your fascinating, yet somehow familiar, stories. Each one wrapped itself around my soul like one of my Granny's quilts, which give me warm comfort on these cold winter nights. I enjoyed each and every page and looked forward to the next with all the anticipation of one waiting for a homemade apple pie! You are a consummate storyteller and weaver of tales! As a deeply rooted transplant to East Tennessee, I have come to appreciate the people who inhabit these hills and hollers, whose ancestors before them lie sleeping beneath the rocky ground. You have brought them to life so eloquently and with so much emotion that I feel as if I know them all! Good job, J.D.! I can hardly wait for the next book! Rebecca Báez
My only thought is how could any mother have left her poor little baby girl with that monster even to save her own life? I know the mother must have suffered greatly and simply sought to escape, however I suspect the virulence he exhibited to little Mary was precisely because his wife had left him and when he couldn't lash out at her from that point on that baby never stood a chance.
This video reminds me of listening to the radio 📻 on Friday and Saturday night with the family, 1974 our TV broke and dad stated it would be two weeks without TV so radio was entertainment. Awesome memories 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You do an absolutely amazing job with this channel. I can't get enough of it. Thank you so much for your efforts. I thoroughly enjoy every minute of every video.
"I'm killing her inch by inch " what a despicable man and the woman too. To take that little girl and torment her to such things as putting her in a box to endure the cold winter nights and you didn't mention it, but I'm sure they did it as well, subject her to hunger as well . For the life of me I'll never be able to understand the human mind and how decrepit it can become or the depth it can reach. I know it was a different era, but I wonder why other people didn't notice the marks on her, such as teachers, police, neighbors, friends, ken folks. These are the type of people who come out after a tragedy such as this and say, I knew there were something going on up there in that house, if I knew for sure I'd a put a stop to it. Despicable! Thank JD, you must be Greek instead of Irish, Scottish or Welsh. Because the Greeks created tragedy in thier stories and that being said, Great job sir.

How any human can inflict that kind of cruelty on an innocent child is beyond my comprehension. She suffered horrendous atrocities for the pleasure of these monsters. I hope she has the majesty and honor she deserves in heaven
Justice would have been if the mountain folk who obviously knew of the abuse had administered their justice before poor Mary died. If the doctor hadn’t intervened, then no justice would have been administered at all because they were all standing round preparing for her funeral. Poor little Mary, she probably never knew any kind of love in her very short life.
*The short little life of Mary snuffed out by 2 monsters and then they get to walk free?!* *I hope the memory of what they did haunted them to the end of their days.*
Stories like this not only break my heart, but anger me at how cruel people can be. Some people don't deserve to have children. I'm going to go give my kids an extra kiss goodnight.
I’d like to think that the mountain folk, on hearing of this despicable couple’s release from prison, quietly extracted their own kind of justice. RIP poor little Mary.
This is an amazing and heartbreaking story. Nowadays it's just another horrible story after the other. The fact that this crime affected so many people, all across the country, reveals how little we have evolved. The number of child murders has exploded! Law was not used in this case....and has NOT been used in any cases on uSA soil since 1789. < That is a Fact written i the "Law of Congress". The Legal Society is FORBIDDEN to practice Law. What the Legal Society practices is called COLOR OF LAW...It Resembles Law but is in fact, NOT LAW....not unless it coincides with the Real Law.
@@harrynut3044 Doesn't a contract require a meeting of the minds, written and agreed to between two or more people?
@@dc-wp8oc YES....but not when it's an adhesion contract. . . which is how all "govt" contract are. We fuck ourselves.
That's exactly right, the mountain doc is the only reason Mary got even a tiny bit of justice.

I've heard this story before but you do it so much better. Thank you. RIP little Mary.
They definitely didn't get what they deserved
That truly breaks your heart for her.. 😢 everything she went through mentally and physically the pain omg she was a strong little girl. Rest in peace 🙏 Mary
RIP Mary Magdalene
Always sad that a child has to die before they would change the laws. RIP Mary
Thanks JD for sharing another great true story that was from the mtns.
Well said Pinky, have a blessed day my friend
Hi JD! Should have let the mountain folk take justice in their own hands.
RIP Mary Magdalene!
Have a blessed day!
absolutely they should have let them.
No one tells your stories like you!
The story plus your music makes it like no other.
❤️
My parents got married in Greenup KY. They were 17. Together all their lives.
another great video JD, when i was a kid people here in SC brought the dead home for a couple of days and sit them up in the living room in a casket while friends visited. the old folks in the house would sit up all night, it was called a sitting up, you sit up with the dead. today folks around here still call a funeral home visit, a sittin up,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Well said OlSkool... my father used to tell the story about when his father was murdered in the front yard, and they kept his body in the house til they buried him.

Thanks!
😢😢
That's awful, poor litttle Annie,, bless her soul. Some parents should NEVER be allowed to have children. When you think about all the good ones out in the world who would have loved and cherished her, not being able to have children of their own they let evil people keep breeding and abusing their little ones. Makes no sense at all?
JD, this story is one that will always stand out among all your other videos. Mary represents the many child abuse cases that unfortunately continue today. Thank you so much for remembering her birthday and sharing her story.
Many thanks for all your videos and the work you put into them.
God 🙏 bless 🙏.
Thank you Nonnie, blessings to you my friend
It's amazing to me that tragedies like this go on for decades until one goes public and THEN the laws are changed or enacted. Things like this happened a lot with victims asking for help but the lawmen would say they couldn't do anything until a person actually killed someone. Then, its too late. Pretty much like today.
disturbing but the story must be told...well done buddy🙏🙏🙏✝
RIP Mary Magdalene
I love your stories of Appalachia although this one weighs heavy on my heart.

Good morning JD, this is truly a sad story. Unfortunately evil lurks everywhere. Y'all stay safe out there 🙏
well said Big Iron. Hope you are doing well this week my friend.
It’s getting worse every day. Our Children are under Attack!
(One of my mottos, never use a sentence where a paragraph will do)
Only 100 years ago!
Can’t wait. jj, out!
Yeah, this story tore me apart in every phase of making it. RIP the sweet Mary
One of the saddest stories I ever heard... and it happened right here in my home state of Kentucky.... just awful. Rest in peace little one.

Rest in peace, sweet Mary. We all love you and hope you found peace.

I cannot believe they were not sentenced to death... RIP Little Mary
RIP Mary
Terrible short life Mary had. So full of hate and horrific abuse! The father should have got the death penalty for sure! But another great story JD thank you, I’m sure researching these stories has to weigh on your heart. God Bless you!
Im glad you mentioned the death penalty Karen- So you see- In Kentucky, a white woman had never been electrocuted. And because she was tried first, she got life in prison. The fathers lawyers used that to their advantage and argued he shouldn't be electrocuted, thus his life was spared. Had he had been tried first, he would have burned 100% for sure.
Fer sure

As a father of my little girl, the sadness and rage I feel while watching this heartbreaking story, is almost overwhelming. It's sad that the judicial system of that time failed that little girl. Our system has become soft on these crimes, especially if you are famous or have money. Justice should always, without question, protect the children.

Thank you for sharing this story... Sad and terribly wrong cold blooded crime. They should have got life at the very least. Thank you again for the history lesson good teacher JD
Thank you Elizabeth, a really sad story all around
This is without a doubt the most horrific case of child abuse I've ever heard of. My heart breaks for that child. I'm TRULY amazed that they weren't sentenced to death and that the mountain folk didn't lynch them, which I confess I hoped they would do.
They got away with murder

Thank you Rebecca! I see what you did there with the apple pie! :)
My only thought is how could any mother have left her poor little baby girl with that monster even to save her own life? I know the mother must have suffered greatly and simply sought to escape, however I suspect the virulence he exhibited to little Mary was precisely because his wife had left him and when he couldn't lash out at her from that point on that baby never stood a chance.
we will never know for sure
I just love the way you tell the story, makes it more interesting 😊

Because the Greeks created tragedy in thier stories and that being said, Great job sir.
yeah, that line "im killing her inch by inch" was a direct quote from the testimony at the trial.

Should have just handed them over to the Mountain Folk... That would have been justice.
Exactly
Justice would have been if the mountain folk who obviously knew of the abuse had administered their justice before poor Mary died. If the doctor hadn’t intervened, then no justice would have been administered at all because they were all standing round preparing for her funeral. Poor little Mary, she probably never knew any kind of love in her very short life.

Thank you Carri, its a tragic true tale. RIP Mary
I’d like to think that the mountain folk, on hearing of this despicable couple’s release from prison, quietly extracted their own kind of justice. RIP poor little Mary.
The father disappeared to Kansas when he was released and the housekeeper fled to Florida when she was released.
How dare she flee for her life but leave her precious child there.
she did it
This is an amazing and heartbreaking story. Nowadays it's just another horrible story after the other. The fact that this crime affected so many people, all across the country, reveals how little we have evolved. The number of child murders has exploded! It's become commonplace to hear about another child wickedly abused and murdered by their parents. It's a sad commentary, to be sure!!
