A legend... I will try to tell you you his story as best i can.. Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in his house in Paris at the age of 74. He was buried on a French island he loved, Saint-Barthélémy. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. He had four children, two of whom were adopted, with his last wife Leaticia Hallyday. In 57 years of career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 songs were turned into music videos or scopitones. 758 authors and composers collaborated with him. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten pieces for other artists. He also wrote and co-wrote a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that he was heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the sponsorship of "Line Renaud", he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." And the great "Charles Aznavour" believed in his talent from the beginning and wrote him a few songs because he was convinced that Johnny would go very far and have a very great career and he was not wrong !! Johnny even lived for two years with Charles and his family. Johnny always considered Charles as his spiritual father. And even the great "Edith Piaf" came to see his first concert at the Olympia in 1961 !! 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victories or Special Victories or Music Honor Victory. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 115 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No.1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny went on more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career, having given more than 3513 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost complete works have been recorded in audio and video. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 12,000 members in total). Johnny is also an actor with no less than 43 films (including appearances) to his credit throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin" award in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films they offered him were not good films, unfortunately.. He dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life decided otherwise, and fortunately so !! Let's get back to the music. Johnny performed a song that is a hymn to love, peace and freedom, the song is titled "Essayez" which means "Try" from the album "Vie" from 1970 that he sang throughout his career. Johnny was not only a rocker but also a committed singer, he sang for AIDS research with several singers including several songs created for these occasions, he did concerts to help underprivileged children, handicapped and others for the association (La bonne étoile) that his wife Laeticia Hallyday created with her friend the chef Hélène Darroze and also did concerts for cancer research for the association (Vaincre le cancer). On March 13, 1972, Johnny filled the Olympia for an exceptional gala in favor of the league against racism (LICRA), bringing together a few singers around him and in the presence of the president of the senate at the time. The following year, in 1973, he composed and performed a song dedicated to this league against racism (LICRA) called "Le droit de vivre" which means "The right to live" from the album "Insolitudes". This song will become the theme song of the LICRA direct expression show on public channels in the late 70s. He also performed a song that recalls the Tian'anmen square protests in beijing in june 1989, the brutal repression, the barbaric massacre by chinese authorities of students and workers who denounced government corruption. The song is titled "Tien an men" from the album "Ça ne change pas un homme" from 1991. The following year, in 1992, he performs this song during his concert at Bercy. Johnny was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was close to his heart and in 2002 he performed a magnificent song against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" which means "At the side of the roads" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road, he couldn't resist and adopted him, the little puppy is named "Cheyenne." He was a man with a big heart. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a knight of the Arts and Letters since 1995. He has sung in several languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese and German). By listening to his songs, you will realize that this great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone: rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock, soft rock, pop rock, rockabilly, country, a rock opera album (Hamlet) from 1976 (This album was ahead of its time). A unique voice... His voice has continued to evolve over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world !! He brought together the rich, the less rich and the poor, including several generations, throughout his career. He has done exceptional concerts with crazy entrances, here are some examples: In 1984 at the Zénith Johnny is inside a giant hand, the arm advances with the hand in a closed🤜fist above the spectators and opens.🫴(It was necessary to break a wall to pass the giant hand above the stage). At the Parc des Princes in 1993 he enters from the back of the stadium passing in the middle of the crowd for three consecutive nights.(no one in the world had done that before him) and he does it again in 2013 at Bercy. In 1998 he arrives by helicopter 🚁 and descends onto the roof of the Stade de France. In 2012, at the Stade de France, he arrived in a giant flying ball, a mine which destroyed the giant screen and then landed on stage. In 2016 for his "Rester vivant tour" he is inside a giant skull💀with glowing eyes that descends from the ceiling and landed on the stage, splitting open. Here are some songs:

But nothing prevents you from subscribing to his RUclips channel, watching his videos and listening to his magnificent songs, thank you in advance to all of you !
