after listening with better headphones, i noticed that the round, bottom end of each bass gets slightly rolled off when the pedal is engaged, even when the LPF knob is set to 50-60%. i wish they had shown the LPF knob maxed to see how much the low end is retained. the low end is still there and all, but it’d be a nice touch if it’s completely unaffected.
I think it's because according to the website the presence and body controls (treble and bass) come after the drive, and I would guess also after the LPF. The SGFX website description says the presence and body are neutral at noon and if you look at the controls in almost every playing example the body control is set below noon meaning they're cutting the bass in each setting.
I am confused at 1:59 by the comment that with the LPF “you can exclude your low end”, isn’t it what a High Pass Filter would do, and not a low pass? “Low Pass” lets the low end pass, no? By the way a high pass is usually more useful than a low pass on bass.
I have the LM208 version of the Dlux Beta and it's fantastic. I like what they've done with the tone control here, though, as I always had to keep it maxed.
I was about to buy a JPTR JIVE, but I'm glad I saw this. To my ears (through my headphones at least), this one is a bit more what i'm looking for with way more flexibility.
It may sound silly: great pedal, great review, and some amazing playing - however, I would love it if they crammed a DI out on this. Maybe a slightly larger enclosure would be needed. But I would swap out my current preamp if that was the case. Cheers and thank you for the video from the Pacific NW!
*Hey Bass the world, crucial question: Are you running the pedal on 9V?* With the Beta MKII the headroom charasteristic changed quite significantly when running it with different voltages(9V,12V,18V), i am asuming its the same for the MKV
hmm, I'd like something like that as 1st pedal but they seem all to be true bypass and I want my buffer... I guess I don't understand the right use of a pedal preamp
A preamp colours the original signal. It furthermore boosts or decreases frequencies and the way it makes that possible for the player with knobs toggle switches etc and how good the result is at the end of the day and what other bonus features it has (comp/ drive section etc) add up to a favourable or not so good evaluation.
A bit more volume, a bit more EQ, a bit of overdrive. Seems standard. A nice compact (less expensive?) option/alternate to a Sansamp. Especially if you use use a passive bass .
Love how this pedal sounds exactly like my first setup endet up sounding. A shoddy no name bass and a Trace Elliot Boxer 65 that clearly had some issues.. But it definitely has a charm to it.. 😅
Kai Lemke on bass is very good addition to this channel!
Kai Lemke is a very good addition to any electric bass plugged in!
Danke!
Thanks so much ❤️

The new guy on bass is an absolute legend.
🤘😁
What are you drinking? Thanks 🙏

Low Pass means literally that the Filter will let the lows pass, means they're not affected.
I was glad to hear that it would do something besides full on crunch (which I would never need). Interesting pedal over all.
First the Ampeg SGT-DI yesterday and now this. I am probably going to starve for a week. Thank you for your this.
The new guy can play.
Hey, youve got the wrong pedal linked to thomann. Nice vid as always. You are always the first with new bass pedals it seems.
thats riff of intro is insane

You mean the limited edition "LM308", right?

The overdrive sounds like a fart cannon. I love it
Great playing pedal sounds quite useful. Nice.
The New guy has own tone in his fingers.
Legend on bass \-/

Yes, 9V

Hi Gregor, the thomann link seems to link to a different SolidgoldFX pedal
I can't get a decent sound out of mine. I think there is a problem with it. Sansamp is back on my board.

What's the brand of the PB's pickups, please?
But do I have to put the preamp before the compressor?
Sansamp bass driver v2 vs Beta-v ??
Juicy intro riff

That's pretty much what I get, I can't get a good sound out of it. My Sansamp is back on my board, where it has been for years.
the sweetwater link is wrong
Check out the Jad Freer Audio CAPO preamp. Best DI on the market especially for the price!
This one is cool!
Very Nice pedal . What is the brand of the jazz bass ? Greetzzz
that's the Sandberg BassTheWorld bass ruclips.net/video/MYqc2e7DAJU/видео.html
Awesome , thanks
I like it!
What brand of flats are on P-Bass???
La Bella 760FL
Thx. ;-)
The Thomann-Link is wrong.
they've listed the Beta now - here's the right link: bit.ly/3zjF3Hm
Did the new guy study under Frank? His stankace is on point.
Thanks man. You practice your stankface with a metronome. This is the way.
This may kick my spaceman Saturn IV off my board..
The P-bass segment sounded quite Ampeg-ish.
I already saw the LPF control... on my Stoner Drive! I have a demo on my channel.
Yes but do we really need another distortion or drive pedal?
Do single commenters need to call themselves "we"?
Your just selling and making commission that's your gig.
The title is missleeding....it is a timeless pedal. No need to sell it in 2024 ;-)?!
I miss the old dude that makes the bass stank faces. 👺🔥
The sound when it kicks in at ruclips.net/video/7KKupbQ1YME/видео.html reminds me of the blown Black Widow speaker I played through in the mid 80s.
👌🏻👏
😳🤩😎
That bassist has a beard that would only be accepted in Germany. Great playing
My barber is from Syria. Maybe the beard is acceptable there also.
@@klemke7043 haha fair enough! My barber is also from Syria and has a similar beard. Germans have whacky beards though
The price for pedals is comical these days...
