  • "Har du mod?" - (English: Have you courage?)
    A song of the Finnish National Awakening written in 1860 and composed by Jean Sibelius. This is the original version in Swedish, in Finnish the song is called 'Elon taistohon käy'. The painting depicts the painter himself John Arsenius with students at the Uppsala University sometime between 1877-1888.

    As someone who's been studing the nationalist movements in the mid-19th to the early 20th century (until the outbreak of the Great War) i appreciate this song.
    The rise of finnish nationalism is very interesting to see and study. It totally backfired the russian authorities. Thanks for the video.
