I'm using audiophile headphones and i picked 3, it feels like it has more separation which makes it more enjoyable.

Fair enough - yes ‘3’ definitely shows well when all samples are volume matched, as they have been here.

No closet needed my friend- I’ve been a fan since 1977. My first concert live was in 1980 at Waverley Park (guess who?) ☺️

I picked 3 (and i normally prefer OG pressings)

Yeah it's interesting Doug - 3 does seem to have more midweight presence, but when I compare to sample 4, and go back and forth, I find that the overall presentation of all elements is best in that latter copy. That's especially true IRL, when you play them on a stereo system at home - the US OG really starts to shine.
On your massive HQ speakers, I'm sure you'd find the same! 👀

I picked Sample 2 as the best, Samples 1 & 4 about equal and the next best and not far behind Sample 2.....and Sample 3 as the worst, being veiled compared to the rest. Not surprised the new box set version isn't up to all the 1st pressings standards and that the Japanese pressing is the best.....but the Aussie pressing stacks up well here.

Hey Steve - thanks for your thoughts!
I definitely feel Sample 4 (the US original) has the most presence and natural feel in real life, and also has a sizeable amount of bass.
Good separation of the instruments too.
Though the Japanese is nice and clear, the bass and every other little detail is really felt best through the US STERLING, imho.
At least, that's on my system at home.
But as alwys, best to compare on your own systems to verify what you heard, here.
