How did you go at Sun Run 2024? If you haven't gone before, are you keen to sign up next year?

Glad you enjoyed it man, and it was a pleasure to meet you during the long commute to the race, definitely made my day more enjoyable! You did really well this year (the last minute coffee pre-race might’ve been a spanner in the works though, haha), hopefully I’ll catch you at Sun Run again next time!

Thanks heaps man! Bit of a random decision to vlog that day, was already regretting it quite a bit after doing the intro… but kinda glad I didn’t worry about talking to the camera too much and carried on because otherwise I’m pretty sure I’d have gotten stitches mid-race or something, not sure how you do it so well but your style is definitely an inspiration to me haha

Check out the triathlon lacing @rob has on them pros! I cannot believe you can shoot a video while running so well! Intense battle between yourself and Laa-Laa from the tellytubbys 😂 Well done on being behind Nedd Brockman by just 48sec 🤯 and coming 48th at Sun Run 2024. So nice of you to also take public transport today to volunteer at Rhodes Parkrun before your NSW 5,000m championship community race event. Hoping you'll consider wearing the pros today for your races! keen to watch you

Oh yea glad you noticed! The lock laces were surprisingly comfy and also provided a really solid lockdown with fairly even pressure on the top of the foot (almost as secure as heel lock, I think, without needing it), though it was a bit risky to not have tested that setup in a run beforehand… I didn’t end up getting hotspots (although maybe if the race was longer it might’ve happened) but still got some numb feet throughout the race, it was a bit more bearable than with the usual laces though so I’m glad I gave it a try.
Nedd’s an absolute beast for sure, I don’t think he was even gassed at the end, and there was definitely some solid runners in the race to keep me on my toes and motivated throughout. Still couldn’t wrap my head around how the yellow tellytubby (and other runners in various costumes) held on so well, I would’ve drowned in my own sweat…
And yea we’ll see how it goes today at the 5000m race, first race on a track and it’ll be the community heat so should be a good one, hopefully the wind isn’t too bad!

WOW!!! 36min🚀🏃‍♂🚀 BRAVO Rob!!! That is some speedy running!!! Here in France we don't even get medals for 10k!☹

Thanks heaps Bev! I also just kinda realised that we don’t have that many 10K events in Sydney as large as the Sun Run (with road closures, thousands of participants, etc.), but there’s plenty of smaller 10K events organised by various running clubs that’s held every month or so. Is that similar for you guys over there in France?

@@RobOnTheRun Oh yeah HEAPS of 10k here , both individually and in combination with HMs and marathons. I never do them though, for one because they don’t give medals 😂 despite being expensive, but really because I always wanna do the longer distances… my jam is pushing my distances!
