I imagined two pilots standing next to each other who are using Hello Radio, one of them says "Hello radio, open flaps, open gears" and both planes open the flaps and the gears. 😃
I would love to see WIFI, Bluetooth, 4G/5G connectivity on these new Radios. Build in FPV screen like DJI remote can also be a great feature i guess. Leds look beautiful.
I didn't think I'd ever use talk to text on my phone now I use it half of the time I send texts. I'm here for anyone doing something new and I can imagine a handful of scenarios when voice control would be really practical
Bling aside, I do love the idea of voice commands even though I fly by screens, and that feature must be even better news for goggle pilots, who can't even see their switches. Even in simple LOS applications, voice commands should be less of a distraction than the trim and switch fumbling they replace, unless you like to have conversations while flying, which has been the number one crash causing distraction since the dawn of RC anyway.
The voice control of trims is a great idea. I would use it for gear and flaps as well. For anyone afraid that their buddies will mess with them with voice commands...the mic could be placed at the bottom of a foam lined tube, with the opening pointed straight out of the face of the radio toward your mouth. The off axis rejection would be huge.
Interesting feature, but having to say hello radio constantly at the field for trim or gear would just make me look silly instead of clicking the trim switches 😂
Hi. This is my first time seeing this model. I can't tell the difference between Radio Master. It is important to know what is the difference between components, microcircuits. What is the quality of board manufacturing?
I don't really want all this stuff. What I'd prefer is a boxer sized radio with proper sliders and dials, internal 1W ELRS as well as internal 4in1 and a module bay for my Crossfire module. Add in a big LiFe battery and a minimalist carry case or snap on TPU protector for the controls and screen and I'd have everything I'd ever need.
Hi Andrew, can you please review the new Jumper T15 radio? I am still using the good old X9D and looking for a upgrade with a color touch screen, something bit smaller and lighter than the TX16
Looks like just a rebadged Radioking. Might be an alright radio, once you got Choppergirl's free sound pack on it. They made the same mistake on it they did on the TX16, putting the 16 function buttons across the top. They fixed it on the short run Eachines version but then you were getting a non standard case. If you're making a nonstandard case anyway you might as well fix it.
At the end of the day, this is probably the future for RC. Just like in the car industry, who are currently leaning heavily on touchscreen and voice commands for all their new vehicles...its progress I guess...
I can see my mates on the flight line having just a bit too much fun with me when I turn up with my voice activation Helloradio...not sure about this Andrew, I think like you I would be turning off most of the wiz bang stuff.
Gosh.. I’m not sure this is going in the right direction. It’s just a control system so if they’re not going to integrate ardupilot, I’d rather ELRS and EDGETX got more simple, not more complicated.
The comments about channel 5 highlight the continued need for the ELRS project to fix this issue. The arm function should not be a channel at all. It's just a one bit flag in the data packet that is not even part of the normal 10 bit channel data. In the early days of ELRS it would have been necessary to use a channel on the radio to pass the arming status to the Tx RF module. Even today that is a valid option for backwards compatibility, but the actual bit flag in the OTA data packet should never have been treated as a traditional channel. Instead, the original implementation should have allowed for mapping any Tx channel as the arm input and then allowed mapping the arm output onto any output channel in the receiver. This would have allowed more flexibility configuring models on the Tx, and fixed wing users could simply not map the arm flag to any receiver output. The problem is that they never had fixed wing applications in mind or frankly anything else other than multirotors. Now that ELRS is serving as the actual RF foundation for new products from Jumper and RadioMaster, they really need to coordinate and fund a code cleanup effort that will get rid of the legacy channel 5 conflicts. Update EdgeTX and ELRS so the serial data stream between the Tx and its RF module includes out-of-band data like the arm flag and then update the EdgeTX or ELRS Lua to allow configuration of a switch for arming *without* controlling a conventional channel.
. Nice functional radio, Voice actovation is to me a bit of a gimmick they're cramming into everything these days, imagine a flight line with VA radios, things could get messy. But with VA off it looks like a decent value bit of kit.
It's probably to hint at the voice recognition feature. When I first saw this Tx on AliExpress, I thought to myself "Ha, a cheaper RadioMaster t16, with a crap name!". After watching a few videos on it, the name kind makes sense. You're always saying hello radio!😅 I guess you could call your walkie talkie Roger!😂
ToolkitRC make some good stuff so I am open minded. Voice control. During an uncontrolled manoeuvre being able to yell out "Throttle cut" or if you fly heli's "Rescue" could be handy. But having to say "Hello Radio, blah blah blah to get through some menus & then 'Rescue' or 'Throttle Cut' " wouldn't be.
This hellokitty radio looks cheap and gimmicky. I will stick with my Radiomaster 16s Max. The voices commands would be neat for navigation of menus, that's it.
As to the Audio input control... Would be a good while Alone... At the field I can see my buddies verbally interfering on my radio.. Like the external audio sources and my TV interfering with my Alexa. The voice recognition on an RC radio seems more like a Gimmick to me.. BTW... I find the Audio is a bit low... Perhaps it's far from the Microphone.
I think it's more accurate to say the designer has no idea about you. Some people clearly like this idea and it seemed to work well in the video. Only time will tell if this proves to be a popular feature. Why have such a closed mind?
Bardwell is going to love this radio
I imagined two pilots standing next to each other who are using Hello Radio, one of them says "Hello radio, open flaps, open gears" and both planes open the flaps and the gears. 😃
I think you have to set up your voice so it knows your voice
Was thinking the same but I'm sure you could put it on a switch - particularly a momentary switch/button would be ideal.
I would love to see WIFI, Bluetooth, 4G/5G connectivity on these new Radios. Build in FPV screen like DJI remote can also be a great feature i guess. Leds look beautiful.
The title and thumbnail definitely caught me 😳

That is nice, but when will they add the following command >>
*"Hello Radio ... Make me a cup of Coffee"* 🤣
The voice control of trims is a great idea. I would use it for gear and flaps as well. Wow. Don't know that I'd have the LEDs flashing but voice control might help me in a pinch.
Radioking rules 😁
When your buddy gets one, yell "HelloSkyRadio Turn Off" and watch their plane smash on the ground. Hours of fun!
I also read the upper 6p button can now be assigned as individual switches like Jumper T15, can you confirm please? no one tested this yet.
Not on mine.
@@AndrewNewton thats bad, I was hoping for it.
Does it have internal bluetooth for headtracking or telemetrie?
Supports add-on bluetooth modules according to the specs.

Yes, you would be banished to the far end of the pits

They should add a physical button for voice command activation.
Hi Andrew, can you please review the new Jumper T15 radio? I am still using the good old X9D and looking for a upgrade with a color touch screen, something bit smaller and lighter than the TX16
I have asked Banggood for a T15 but they weren't interested. Might try again.
How easy is it to change from Mode 2 to Mode 1?
Depends on the gimbal. AG01 are very easy. Lots of videos around on how.
Is the radio's name HAL ?
Oh yes, wish I had thought of that.

I'd like to hear AI Voice and Amber having an argument

Maybe with the configuration app

EdgeTX is used for more than just FPV. When you don't have a FC on the aircraft the configuration and mixing happens on the radio.

Yes an alternative "ELRS armed" method would be better.
Voice control is a little bit dangerous I would say.
