Although this book was published a decade ago, Alex Papachristidis’s multifaceted approach and fresh color palette make his rooms a perfect backdrop for glamorous living and an easy elegance. He discusses style strategies such as draping hall tables and hanging matchstick blackout shades beneath bedroom curtains, and he opens his international address book to share favorite resources for fabrics, furniture, and antiques.
In the forward Mario Buatta exalts much praise upon Alex Papachristidis and states that if he were not a decorator, he would hire Alex himself.

Quintessence has a video tour of his home and gardens that are wonderful and shows what a nice person he is. He also gives some great advice on living and entertaining.

I did see that- I enjoy Susanna Salk, and is there anyone she doesn't know?

Would love to see you feature Mario Buatta's book... He only has the one, but is considered to be an encyclopedia of design! It would seem most fitting, since he inscribed the forward for this book... Absolutely loving your awesome reviews!!!

I do the same thing. I always look to see what design books other designers have in their homes. I call it my networking.

I watch his videos over and over and love everything about the NY apartment and the Hamptons family home. I see the book is $119 now, a bit too much for me, but it's still on my list. The one thing I do notice is that we all pronounce his name Papachristidis (dees), but he pronounces is (is with a short i sound). I'd like to get Mario's book too. I just saw it on one site for $2,400!!

Alex seems to be a genuinely kind person. I appreciate that this is often mentioned by his friends and clients. In October I will be reviewing the book he wrote last year (The Elegant Life). I will say, his books definitely retain value and I had no idea the Mario Buatta book was that expensive.

How do I find print reproductions of the 9-piece nude collection on the cover? Those are fantastic.

I will look at the book and see if they give credit for the prints.
