It's ironic that the hardest Joel Jr. ever worked in his life was the day he killed and dismembered his parents.

@Evan Wallace "You're right there" for sure, although I was also moved to weeps on reflecting about it, nobody in that store or the cashier - who if they ever see such footage as them ringing up & even chatting with their customers turned into victims I can only imagine their upset & distress - also had the least idea of how this lady's Just An Ordinary Day was soon to be on the far side of the universe from that. I barely managed to stir myself from the shocked state I was in to see that, but most of the running time here I just lay unmoving like a beached stick in the sand, mostly listening [the putrid ugliness of this Jupiter-sized sack of shit is too much for my "delicate photoreceptors" to tolerate] as this beyond dirty water to make Jackson's look like the Potomac River centuries past, which was the essence of clean, washed over my senses. I managed to take a selfpic & boy does "you look terrible!" apply there, eyes round with pain & terror in a near-whitened face [being of red skin like my Indian ancestors, that says something], but nowhere remotely near that which these people suffered as they realized they were being destroyed by what they all too late came to know was an unspeakable monstrosity - of their own *physical* making; they are completely blameless about its rotted-out insides from the lowest depths of hell. It was literally Eye For An Eye time here, this soulless blob should have gotten exactly the same sickening things it did for Due Justice - no hack dreaming up graphic splattergore for the masses can begin to approach the coroner's descriptions of what happened to them. He genuinely does not see other people as human, just a means to an end. Once they stop being useful to him, they're disposable.
You people screeching "bAd pArEnTiNg" should be ashamed of themselves. Just because they loved and supported their son for so long doesn't make them bad parents. Going by your warped logic, their other kids would have all been murderous sociopaths, too. And yet, they all turned out fine. Funny, that. It's almost like their parenting wasn't the issue, here.

He's a selfish person who used his parents and when they didn't want to do for him anymore, they weren't worth nothing to him. Its sad that he took his wonderful parents not only away from himself, but from his other siblings as well. The way he sits in court and looks at all the pain and suffering and chaos he has caused, and just holds his head high with absolutely no care at all is sickening. He had a life that a lot of people would kill to have. And here he took his parents life and ruined everyone else's. He's the definition of a lazy entitled loser.

You have to wonder would Joel Guy have been this diaboical regardless of what his parents did or didn't do for him. Is a person born destined to be a diabolical narcisistic sociopath or do they evolve into one based on their enviornment or circumstances. I think his parents unknowingly contributed to his mentality by spoiling him his entire life and then finally doing what they should have done ages ago which is cut him off.
My parents made the same mistake with my sister. She drove my mother into an early grave by birthing 4 children that she did not take care of. Sh just dropped them off on my parents to raise like a stork which was incredibly physicaly and financially straining for them. She continued having those children after they were both retired and living on retirement income.
I used to be so frustrated with my parents for letting her get away with murder. They were always fixing it so she never had to pay for the consequences of her poor choices and financing her lifestyle even though she wasn't raising her own 4 children. I kept telling them you need to cut her off and they never would. She just became more unhinged as she got older. I personally won't have anything to do with her. I left the state so I could be 1 thousand miles away from her and the havock she reeks on our family.

The only stuff he'll get for free is maybe a few pieces of paper, an envelope, and a little bar of soap. Even then, I bet he would still have to clean and work anyway. If he didn't, it's not like he would be able to enjoy much of anything and even if prison wasn't miserable enough on it's own, I'm pretty sure the other prisoners and guards hate him and will make sure he's paying for what he did

His lawyers are bound by the law to give an adequate defense. Listening to his lawyer it's clear he wasn't into defending him, but he's doing his duty. If he didn't, Joel would have had a good chance at an appeal for insufficient/inadequate defense. Don't bash the defense lawyers just for doing their job.

Money makes people crazy. I'm not saying that excuses his actions, not at all. But what I am saying is that when a huge pile of money is on the line then people will do some desperate things to get their hands on it. Go ask a lawyer who deals with probate cases and she'll tell you some stories about families being at each other's throats over even moderate inheritances.

It's hard to imagine such a lack of any virtuous quality. Parenticide is usually motivated by emotions. Joel wasn't even left out of the will. He literally did it just to avoid having to get a job. It's not like he felt he was abused, hallucinating, or had any honor in who he stole from.
