For the birth of our second child my husband got the luxury treatment. He got a bed and a full lunch (while I sat there starving). They even brought him pillows and blankets. He sat and played his Nintendo Switch (with my permission). All he had to do was help hold my leg for 10 mins while I pushed. All in all I’d say that was a pleasant day.
It's so nice that you care so deeply for your husband :) when I deliver first time I'm definately going to let him relax, though knowing him he'd probably put on the tough "I'm alright" facade
Yuulo it helps that it was the second time around. The first time we were both nervous so we couldn’t relax! This time I was like I’m going to just get my pain medication then sleep.
@@kirstenstonebrink7443 Yup that'll probably be me second time around! I cant wait to have kids of my own. A lot of things to be learned and experienced certainly. How many kids do you have?
My husband told me he was tired from pushing my back during contractions as I birthed our twins. That was about 5 mins in after I'd been in labour all day. 😐
Thank you so much for helping me to understand what trials my hubby went through for our four kids. I clearly have never given him the childbirth respect he deserves.
Sadly I just saw on breaking news that the How-to Mum was just arrested for killing her husband, however, after the police watched this video all charges are being dropped. 😂😂😂😂
My husband was a great support during labour. He isn’t great with blood or bad smells, and he was pushing on my back during contractions. He actually almost fainted toward the end! Giving birth was awful but he had a rough time too but he really helped.
I really like that: "When push finally comes to shove". We have only one child. It came way to early, which was rather shocking. No parent ever forgets the births of their children I guess. And don't forget the emotional bond: When your beloved missis is in pain, yóu are in pain. Great video, get it of your chest dad! Now for the prequel and sequel ...
Childbirth is more admirable than conquest, more amazing than self-defense, and as courageous as either one. The instant of birth is exquisite. Pain and joy are one at this moment. Ever after, the dim recollection is so sweet that we speak to our children with a gratitude they never understand.
I can remember when my mum was giving birth to my brother, I sacrificed like 3 nights with maybe an hour sleep each night & then going up to my mum worried everytime- I even sacrificed my birthday because my brother was born a DAY after my birthday- I was like 8 when he was born, I also asked the nurse if he was the right weight when they were checking his weight I-
My husband had some serious cramps while forcing my lower back during contractions, but kept it to himself (I didn't notice because..., well, I was screaming my lungs out). Ob/Gyn took a photo of us then, and I must say I'll forever be grateful for the effort he made!
My hubby actually went out to buy himself some food during his daughter's birth! But he was back in time to help me with the final push. He almost missed it. I was grateful though that he went into the bathtub with me in the end and helped me up when I fainted later and stuff. I think it's more mental for dads in a way if they have to watch the whole action from the other end... lol.
Wow, respect! You done all that? Just wow. My husband was hiding half behind a closet, when he did look he had this look of pure fear and death that i had never seen. Respect for men for going thru all that. You guys are superstars and deserve to know it!
Haha dads definitely go through quite a lot! My experience is that after about 6 hours of trying to push a stuck baby out, my conversation with the midwife was "Is he OK?" referring to my almost fainting husband 😄
I wish i saw that before giving birth to my son! My poor poor husband! and i was so angry at him for sitting next to me eating energy bars and chewing into my ear while i was pushing. Now i understand how hard that was on him!
I gave birth over 4 1/2 days. My husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) was amazing. Yes, women go through hell, but don’t underestimate what the guys go through watching us. Our son is amazing and just graduated from university. Totally worth it.

When I was born my father was ordered out because he was about to faint because of all the blood and stuff, and the doctors were like "ain't got time to deel with that shit". A good idea for the fourth one, aye?

We have 6 kids. Although my husband is willing to go through all this pain and drama again, I'm not. He's currently researching a different kind of pain and drama that starts with a V.
Dad's do have it hard. I remember yelling things at my hubby during contractions and squeezing his hand really hard, he was also starving because I wouldn't let him leave my side 😂
It absolutely amazes me that they don't have a chair for you. In America we have everything from fold out couches and food for the family covered. It's sort off ridiculous that you have to go through this! Dads are important too!
Ummm…No: Your wife still went through way more than you did. Contractions are basically a form of electrocution. So, her torso was electrocuting itself every two minutes for a few to several hours.
The person i was with through my labour apparently my partner at the time . He was so nasty to me followers going through contractions trying to put his private part in my mouth and I was begging him not to but then when we got to the hospital he become Prince Charming and rub my back for 10 hours the next morning I couldn't move because I ended up with a cesarean after a 14 hour labour according to the hospital I was in labour longer than that . And that he is 9 years older me and I shouldn't be the one to always financially support him when he's the one earning more than me and he doesn't put the scent towards the power and water it's hard enough trying to get baby formula and nappies and for him to replace the food that he eats of mine on his off pay week because he only gets paid every second week. No professional squatters were harmed during the making of this video ...
Can't say the same about one dad after the making of this video.
My husband was a great support during labour. He isn’t great with blood or bad smells, and he was pushing on my back during contractions. He actually almost fainted toward the end! Giving birth was awful but he had a rough time too but he really helped.

When push really comes to shove - you are just too, too funny. How To Mum must have the most delightfully patient sense of humor...
😂😂😂 Great vid.
11 days ago I went through that „pain“ myself. The nurse brought me my own wet cloth because I was sweating that much. 😂

My husband might faint. Nurses see it so much that they came up from behind him with a chair so he can rest and prevent the fainting.
This is why my husband bought a lawn chair for labor days. We call it the "birthing stool."
