To anyone who thinks this is an easy job on both the transit side or the NYPD side trust me it isn’t. Been on the job for 21 years and was an off duty first responder to a horrific and gruesome high speed car crash and it messed me up for a bit having to witness the remains of reckless teenage kids. And while the transit motorman and conductor here are both probably traumatized by this and will have some time off, it’s the NYPD emergency squad unit that have to be the ones to dive in, retrieve the remains of the body and aide in the clean up process at the same time of a crime scene. And when you arrive to a scene like this, you never know what gruesome discovery you’re gonna encounter in this kind of situation. So kudos to the men and women of the NYPD ESU for having the iron clad stomach and veins of steel to do this. Not many people let alone some officers are built for this.
You're right. The train operator and conductor will get 3 days off. He has to go under the train and report what he sees to control.
The motorman is the first responder.
@@mohamad-ms2pb not exactly. And also isn’t the one that has to remove the remains of the dead that the NYPD ESU has to do. The motorman is technically a first witness responding to law enforcement and transit dispatch.
You guys are doing such a great job and it is definitely traumatizing having to see and do what you all do. My heart goes out to each and everyone of you on a daily basis.
Quit feeling sorry fys
A co worker once told me he was walking under an elevated subway station when he noticed what he thought was red paint on the windshield of a car. Turns out to be blood and small clumps of flesh. The cleanup on the tracks of an underground station is one thing, but the tracks on an open deck is another.
Gruesome and frightening…😖
More transparency

Security will not chase an innocent person. Sad this person died this way.
I’m sure tomorrow someone’s family will want to sue! I hope the business owner has video of the theft to protect themselves.
Whoever wrote this is a p**** and I hope they have the video footage when somebody beat your p**** ass
Was there a theft?
Security should not be chasing onto train tracks….what they jumped the turnstile? This story does not add up. Maybe they both went through the big exit gate ?
Anyone know, please pm me.
Sue the security company, and charge them. Do NOT chase
This would ruin my whole mindset had I been one of those service people
Imagine having to clean that up then go home with smiley face for the family.
Not happening
I cant
Honestly sounds like the job for me
Unfortunately, you cant make that much money working for crime scene clean up, they don't make that much money at all, I already looked it up on Google a long time ago.
Imagine that happening to a coworker and mta telling you keep working while your stepping over blood covered with sawdust and sand and still going home to your family and smiling because we have to keep the system moving I was a track worker this happens... where just numbers to them
it's the J line not 6 line. and rip to that man. but damn yall gotta be careful out there
J line ? But what stop? Cresent?

My pops was a motor man had 2 ppl at different times of his career jump in front of his train on elevated tracks he had to shut the train down go and inspect the situation himself said it look like cut up meat in a butcher shop a 3rd died of cardiac arrest on his train he got to retire early with full pension because of all that... it messes with you mentally
This was on the J Train.. Great footage of this unfortunate incident. I think that this type of raw footage is a good deterrent.. blood dripping from the tracks, the sneaker, the body and THAT SHOVEL.. WTF.
I’ve been living in New York for 9 years now, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video of a crime scene this detailed before!! 😮

Terrible anytime someone loses their life especially when it appears to be senseless.
I lost it when I saw the shovel. This is a tragedy😢
I do not understand why they needed a shovel.
@@soprotivleniye7620 more than likely the ESU team may have needed the shovel to scoop up some of the victims remains that may have splattered onto parts of the tracks and down into the street underneath. Awful nonetheless.

Why was he being " chased " by a security guard? This is crazy .
For theft.
@Blue Label Sad...thanks .

I mean why just why on earth would the suspect run from a cops and jumps on tracks gets struck by a train and died. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️STUPID!!!!

What you don't see is the mangled flesh stuck up in the grates that Bryan's looking at. I've seen this before A train Liberty Ave
So let me guess now they wanna say let people steal and don’t give chase?
Some people don’t want to pay for shrimp, potato chips, or whatever. This is what can happen.
Someone died because of entitlement! It’s not the security persons fault either!
Still not supposed to be chased by security once you leave the premises

Sometimes they place the victim into a room/employees bathroom until the coroner arrives to confirm. Sometimes that takes hours. My 33 years In the subway I've witness 7 train deaths or as they refer to it as 12-9s. Never easy too accept and witness the horrific experience.
Shout out to Bryan for his take

Sad
Seriously, it is. We don’t know what the guy did but he probably didn’t deserve to die for it plus the damn motorman has to live with it.
They had a lovely story on MSNBC of a train conductor. All the comments were great, but this was the one thing that kept coming to mind. For anyone who wants the reality of this job, I'll direct them here.

Security from where ?
Lesson 1:dont run in front of trains

Ya mad ignorant if ya think the security guard plays no part. It’s no good excuse for stealing but that’s why the policy in NYC is not to chase them off store grounds because they can run into traffic etc. but to chase someone up the stairs is crazy. Now if the thief would’ve turned around and shot him although it being wrong ya probably would say it wasn’t worth it he should’ve let him go. Shame on ya and ya ignorance.
Yeah go ahead and blame the guard and not the stupid idiot who decided to get on the tracks, you're so ignorant.

@@CropOverman so if you was a security guard you chasing someone up the steps to a train station? You gonna pay your fair to chase him on the platform too? Security isn't supposed to chase someone once they leave the store
You aren't even supposed to touch anyone. The store security might play a huge role in this.
