- Hello, we are Junior and Sharron, and in 2019, we sold our home with dreams of eventually retiring and RVing the country. We purchased a 42-foot 5th wheel and lived as full-time RVers for four years. At the end of 2022, Junior was diagnosed with ALS. We once again sold everything to start over in an handicap accessible apartment. We still have dreams to travel. We just have to make sure they include handicap accessible vehicles, flights and hotel rooms. We are slowly learning and will bring that information to you as we gain knowledge.
The ability to walk gradually declines as an individual progresses with ALS. We try to focus on Junior's motivation to keep moving and strength. Thinking about his family is one of the main things that keeps him fighting for his mobility. Although he uses a scooter most of the day, we always take an evening stroll to let him safely walk around our apartment complex.
In our prior Q&A video, we explain our timeline for the videos as we are still posting videos from last year. During the fall we begin to focus on getting Junior in to see a doctor and stop editing footage we had from our trips. We are now posting those videos. In the timeline explanation video, we also give you a bonus clip of Junior attempting wheelies on a scooter. This man will try to do a wheelie on anything. We are feeling grateful and blessed even though we are facing a battle of a lifetime. It is such a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by people who have a giving heart.
A positive attitude has been our saving grace and has gotten us through the difficult decisions we are being forced to make. Decisions about our travels, about what we must change to navigate an ALS diagnosis, and decisions to be strong when all you want to do is break down emotionally and say why me.
Then you remind yourself that self-pity and a negative attitude will only make the rest of your life miserable, so you prepare for this battle with the only weapons you are armed with and that is to be positive, make the best of this precious life that is so fleeting, you begin to take your adventures and realize what a precious gift it is to be able to experience it with one another.
No moment is waisted, every minute is an important fraction of time that you get to choose how you spend it because TIME is a currency and one that is more valuable than all the gold or precious metals in the world. How will you be spending your TIME this year? We plan on getting the most for our precious spent TIME!

In this video, we show you how ALS has changed the way Junior walks. We also show you the walking exercise he does every evening and how his ankles no longer move as they should. And we reviewed an Amazon product that was suggested to help with his feet movement. Did it work? Are you familiar with the challenges ALS patients have? Are you interested in learning more? Follow us as we share Junior's Journey.
Keep it up
Thank you Gordon 💙
We are staying positive and learning as we go.
Miss y’all. Stay strong and keep pushing. My dad just gave up and has not been able to walk in a year or so.
We are sorry to hear that about your Dad. We are trying to make the best of the time we have and learning to navigate getting around with a scooter.
Miss you too buddy
I'm proud Junior
Thank you ❤️
This was great to see Junior getting in a walking exercise. And I'm glad he was able to make it to the end of the hall without getting out of breath. And that really sucks about the product you get picked up from Amazon. Hopefully you will find one that actually works.
❤❤❤
Thank you for watching
