amazing what a bit of hair dye can do... it's taken decades off you Rahdo!
Shea is Rhado’s secret son. 🤣 Great review...I’ll have to pick this up when the second print run is released. Great to see a diversity of games on Rhado’s channel.
I highly recommend this game. Its my second favorite all-time. The whole Pax series of games is grand as well if you find that this one floats your boat.
Because this is my number one of all time, I need to know what your number one is! :D
Great video! I like that you describe the game by using the term "game state." That sums up something that is a positive point for me in any game. Is it deep enough, that it can accurately be described as having a "game state."
Solid review for a great game (and one I never expected to see in this channel) Tks Shea! :D
No problem! It's what I'm here for.
Are you... Rahdo from the past?
I m glad to see that Pax series get the attention they deserve. Clever solid games, unique style. I ve Read somewhere that they are not famous as they are heavy. That's a joke. Most of the top bgg games are over 4/5. It is thst its a small publisher. Nice review pal!
Thanks! And yeah, having not played any Pax games before this, I assumed they would be heavier. While it's not the simplest game ever, and from what I hear Pamir is more accessible than most, it wasn't anywhere near as complex as some other, more popular games I've tried.
@@RTFM Agreed. I ve KS pax viking and rennaisance 2nd edition. I ve also heard that Pax Porfiriana is a very good medium medium/heavy game.
@@gerasimos5491 I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
I love this game...so deep and thematic.
Fantastic job on a well deserving game. Thank you Shea
So many positive reviews for this game. Nice work Shea
Thanks! And yes, this game is getting a lot of praise, which I think is well deserved.
Excellent review, and I am very interested in the game; though I worry none of groups of friends will be up for it.
It's not for everyone, sure. I was at least curious, but I found myself liking it even more than I thought I would. Hopefully your friends will give it a chance if you bring it out some day.
nice review Shea! I get that is better at 3/4p, but would you still get this if you could only play it 2p, and your collection is veeeery curated (read: small)? Because it frankly looks awesome and the theme/tone/setting is superb...
The game is good with two, but not best with two. Because of the "four point lead = win" rule the game tends to be very fragile where one wrong move or one misread can doom a player and end the game. Also I have found in my two player games that one of the factions (British, Russian, Afghani) tends to be ignored due to the build-up in the other two which leads to a less dynamic (more binary) board-state.
As Andrew said it's good with two, but better with more. Although you can add the AI player to round it out. That'll definitely add a bit more chaos into the mix, which helps keeps things interesting. As for my collection, I hate wasting money so I'm very selective when it comes to buying games. Plus I have enough friends with their own collections that if they have a game I like, I don't usually buy it for myself.
Great review. I sold my copy because it was too tactical for me. By the time it’s your turn again the board state can change so drastically that all your plans fly out of the window. You lose cards, majorities shift, gifts fall a part. I would have hoped for at least a bit more strategy.
Hi, Rahdo, May I know your rating for this game? It seems I couldn’t find it on your BGG collection.
Do you and Jen enjoy it as a 2-player game or do you recommend it as a 2-player game?
i haven't played it so i couldn't say...
Awesome review, not sure if it’s for me, but I’d love to play if given the chance. I love big combos
This definitely has the opportunity for those. And I was a little unsure about it myself, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
My conundrum is that I want to play, but I'm not sure if I want to play with the person who owns it. 😅
i'd love to play this someday
What happened to the cat and heart blanket that is always draped over the sofa?
Nice Shea!
I have only played this two player and without the ai it seemed a little to decisive.
I really want to play 3 or above tho
I definitely feel like 3+ is the way to go. Getting all three factions on the board at once seems to be how the game is meant to be played. Still, I enjoyed with two, though in the future I would probably add the AI for a third player just to mix things up a bit.
such a good game, but so expensive
Great review, Shea! But also, where is your grownup-sized TV? Lol jk
Can we label this other guys’ videos in the title? It’s disappointing to see a video on here I want to watch later and then find out it’s not Rahdo. Sorry but if I wanted to watch someone else play games I’d watch their channel.
i will be doing that eventually, once they're established. you're missing out though, since shea ran through this *exactly* as i would. so i'd suggest giving it a try :)
