Thank you for this. Also, can you show how to use the hem foot for a regular hem? I always do mine by hand because I can’t figure the stupid foot out. Also, can you show how to make a rolled hem with silky fabric? I’ve fought the foot and lost. :(
I am working with a fabric that frays like crazy. Not having a serger, I used a hem stitch to keep the fabric together while I basted and then sewed the seams. I don't dare cut one side down to a 1/4" for fear it wiii fray all the way to the seam even after the flat fell seam is done. I think I will have to use bias tape to extend the upper side of the seam allowance over the under one rather than cut the other one down. This may make for a wide fell seam which I hope wont be too wide for the foot. I have attempted flat fell seams before a long time ago.
Thanks you are a great teacher I bought the special foot. Wondering if it will be hard to do on a knit fabric. I am alternating a jersey for my son. I was surprised to find that the jersey used flat felled seams!
Oh that is interesting they had that seam on the jersey. It should sew good on that fabric & if anything making sure you have the right needle will make a difference. Let me know how it goes. I’m curious 🧐 Thanks for watching 🎀
That’s a great foot! In the thumbnail i can see it has a part number, but I can’t quite make it out. Could you possibly write it out for me so i can find if it will fit my machine? (Probably not just me!), maybe the brand too, if you can spare a minute. 😊
I have this foot and wasn't sure how to use it, thanks for the video. I am sewing two blue jean skirts and want to use it on them.
You are a terrific teacher.
Awwwww thanks 😊
Hey I am a beginner! I just started sewing! I just wanted to say that you are an amazing teacher.
Thank you 😊 I appreciate you watching Sew Anastasia
I discovered this foot came with my sewing machine and had no idea what it’s usage was, or name lol. This beyond helpful!
So glad to hear you can now use it! Woohoo!!!! Time to make some jeans 👖
Thanks for making it easy to see what’s going on.
Thank you for watching 🎀
You are an amazing teacher 👏👏👏👏
Awwww ☺️ thank you Rose 🌹

I hope it works out for you!

I need to remove the cuffs from a sweatshirt to shorten them. Can this work on a knit cuff?
Hummm.... maybe. Your fabric might be too thick. Did you try? How did it go?
Could you provide a video of constructing a garment that incorporates this seaming method? When would it be preferred?
I sure can!
@@SewAnastasia looking forward to it. Maybe combined with a thrift flip or garment rework?
@@xxx-il9dv totally! Uocycling September is almost here!

I can totally get that for you and put it in the description. I will be at the studio in a few hours and do sew. Thank you for watching :)
413 18 55-45 is the part number
I think it would be nice for that seam to be on the outside of the fabric
You can totally sew it reverse too! Like on jeans 👖
How do you sew a flat seam along the trouser leg?
