Heck yeah! Good call on the request Heath! I can't wait until David gets to my STP request, hopefully soon, it truly shows off how Scott Weiland was the consummate frontman.
I can't believe that people compared him to Eddie Vedder at the time. Scott was a tenor and Eddie a baritone. Thanks Beavis and Butthead. I love both bands and wish so much that Scott had been able to make it work. He was a hell of a talent.
Thanks David. Thought you’d like this heavy song of theirs. Happened to be the first track on their debut album. It never got a ton of love from the radio stations but one of my favorites of theirs.
His voice is much harder on the album/CD and a bit more raspier in my opinion. Their first 2 albums were solid, every song is good. First album was super heavy and thick I loved it.
My absolute favorite band. Scott Weiland may have been the last true great front man, he was a rockstar in every sense of the word - massive amount of charisma, flamboyant, great voice (that admittedly got worse as time wore on) and a penchant for run-ins with the law. And while he is irreplaceable I feel Jeff Gutt (new singer) has done a great job. I'm going to request a few, hopefully you get a chance to get to them. Thanks for all you do. Personal Favorite Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart (Live at Rolling Rock 2001) - ruclips.net/video/nYkkQsYUfVo/видео.html (start at 5 minutes 11 seconds) Good showmanship Probably the most enduring hit from the first half of their career Interstate Love Song - ruclips.net/video/o0qyP1bA-ME/видео.html Definitely the biggest hit of the latter half of their intitial run (1992-2003) Sour Girl (Official Music Video) - ruclips.net/video/YxS4lqppZ6Y/видео.html (would've preferred a live version but the best were Letterman and Leno so I didn't bother)
@@Owlyross Yeah, I believe those came out during the pandemic. It’s great to see rarely played songs. I’ve seen them live with Jeff a handful of times and they are always so solid.
Scott was so amazing in his prime. He was a shell of his former self near the end of his life, but this is a great example of how magnificent h a talent he was.
I was always amazed at how thick the guitar sound was on all their albums, and even live. You'd think just by hearing them play that it was a two guitar band.
Scott Weiland was incredibly talented but he was also heavily addicted to drugs. He was in and out of rehab for most of his career. I've seen STP live five times and even seen Scott's off shoot band Velvet Revolver. You can see that he's out of his brain in this performance. Look at his movements. He's twisting his body in weird ways like he's out of control. It's a testament to his talent that he was able to put on great shows when he was super fucked up.
Lol this was an alright one to start with, but I def still dug it. I recommend "Wicked Garden" live on Letterman ruclips.net/video/niKJHH2MJ3w/видео.html
Letterman is tricky....not so much because of Letterman, but because of CBS and/or NBC. They're both VERY protective of their intellectual property and they both block a lot. CBS is the worst. I'll give it a shot and hope for the best. Added to the que.
Core might be the heaviest non metal album ever. Check out STP on Letterman in 93(Wicked Garden). I don’t think the clip is on of Dave saying when he intros the band by saying “ brace yourselves” anymore but the performance is still there. Hey found it. ruclips.net/video/X3KLbXt_1UQ/видео.html
YIKES, one of the WORST vocals I've heard from Scott "live"... Either I am still not awake OR he is NOT hitting his notes cleaning OR the guys on sound mixing are shitty, I think it's Scott being off... How wasted was he...
I've heard MUCH better vocals at festival and outdoor shows from Scott, IF you think he is going well here, this is one is nothing compared to other takes of this song.... NOT sure why this one was suggested UNLESS it's to show off the bands energy....
He's STARTING to sound better around 7:00 in or so for this and IMO following STP since Core, I THINK Scott is wasted/high this show, notes he is hitting just seem like motions to me, not his usual hitting those notes with power.
I figured being from LA you had heard all their stuff lol Scott was a great singer and frontman! Love Wicked Garden and Sour Girl
Hell ya!! STP! RIP Scott. Such a great band.
Under rated band imo. Saw them twice. Scot Weiland knew how to put on a show. Always liked STP.
I think you’ll enjoy more songs from their first 3 albums not gunna lie. Especially their live shows from that era.
Those brothers are unreal.
Thank you for this. Saw them so many years ago. Nobody has this video.

they're both baritones
@@michaeldean4720 nah Scott’s tenor asff. Listen to “a song for sleeping” by stp. Sounds like a totally different person than from their core era!
No. He was a baritone with great high register.
Kick ass, STP's CORE getting represented! One of my fav 90's Alt albums and imo one of the best debuts from a band dropping an album.
Thanks David. Thought you’d like this heavy song of theirs. Happened to be the first track on their debut album. It never got a ton of love from the radio stations but one of my favorites of theirs.
Was opener on their second album Purple. First album Core opened with Sex Type Thing.
@@brothersnippy1373 ...
I have always been a fan! They have a great sound and Scott Welland is one of the best front man!!
His voice is much harder on the album/CD and a bit more raspier in my opinion. Their first 2 albums were solid, every song is good. First album was super heavy and thick I loved it.
Saw them headline Rockfest back in 08. Great concert. Shinedown and Sevendust were the other main acts. Good times
My favorite STP song hands down. Thanks for bringing this performance to my attention. Great reaction as always.
Great song 🤘🏽
Great song. I definitely prefer the album version to this one but this was good for a change.

There's a couple of full album playthroughs with Jeff Gutt up on RUclips, Core and Purple. I've been really pleasantly surprised by them

STP fan here, no issue with the score 🤘

You’ll get a kick outta their bassist if you keep watching them that’s for sure
Definitely listen to the studio version, Dave

Hey, Jon from Australia, have a listen to a Canadian band called The Tea Party, a song called Fire in the Head
Already in the que, added your name to the requesters

also more tool pls UWU
Oh you didn't know the song or the band...
The album versions 1000 times better!
