I am willing to place a bet that St. Peter's only thought they needed three players and when they found out it was four they grabbed Armitage from the audience.
His main function is to look posh and his secondary function is to sound posh because considering he's from Lancaster while everyone else on St. Peter's is from the South (Roberts and Trueblood are from Londoners and Smith is from Maidenhead in Berkshire), he's the only one to pronounce "mathematics" properly since Smith doesn't pronounce the "e".
Mr Armitage is very good at wearing a suit. Obviously just what the team needed at that time. Also shaking his head when asked if he had an answer. Really useful.
yaorito1 It is worthwhile saying that I couldn't have a grumble unless you posted these in the first instance, so many thanks, and keep up the great work! :-D
I don't know how the year ended--that was 2015 and this is 2021--because I haven't gotten that far yet in viewing every episode, but I'm hoping that St. Peter's-Oxford and the University of Durham ended up being the winners of the top two spots.
If I was sitting beside Trueblood, I'd tell him to stop fiddling with his clothes - how utterly off-putting it must be - just put your arms on the bloody desk, boy!
Gabriel Trueblood. That's a proper vampire name.
@Talon Darian I tried it. On your mother's account. Fascinating.

Sarah-Kate Masters Roberts Why? He answered at least one question which is more than some can manage. I wonder if you could do better.
He was the man for physics questions like at 23:29
@@wayneloveday4716 Yes. I did better.
Armitage basically represented the rest of us.
Bless Armitage.
Armitage is such a passenger
He helped with the uniform circular motion bonuses
He's a good lad
Why's Smith dressed like Mr Bean?? St Peters Bean !
TRUEEEEBLOOOOOOOD. what a god. he could've 1 v 7ed this.
27:52 "UKIP is right"
wonder when that sound bite is going to be used out of context.
Almost immediately, if what I've seen of UKIP from New Zealand is anything to go by....
@@joeys11000: Comment aged badly. Sorry.
Sir Charles Trevelyan (Education) also resigned on the outbreak of WW1. It was a pact of 4, including Lloyd George, but he decided to stay.
Imagine going to see dr Trueblood
what if Trueblood forgets his hoody?
hey boss what’s with raoof’s head dance after a right answer?
Mr Armitage is very good at wearing a suit. Obviously just what the team needed at that time. Also shaking his head when asked if he had an answer. Really useful.
hey warwicker’s hair style was a few years ahead of its time. well done young lady
the first picture round puts Silverstone about 50 miles north of where it really is
Nürbergring shown about 80 kms norther than it actually is too.
More balanced questions this time.
I feel like Selwyn was singling out Raoof. Poor guy.
armitage is in his own world. one wonders why he showed up with the other 3.
The teams I want to have a chance in this are falling by the wayside. Not really looking forward to the finals at this rate.
Me too. Somehow those I like simply keep losing

Come on,how many teams have a person who just fills in,armatage did that.
His simple appearance and presence is enough for entertainment
Trueblood popped off
WTF IS THE POINT OF ARMITAGE?!
Physics
To look presentable

I think he was just a bit nervous. But who can blame him...
This is the most british thing i have ever heard lol. Nobody would care in the real world and I thought it was charming.
I agree with the tessellated. The fiddling with the drawstring makes me crazy.
I agree, it so very annoying. It maybe nerves but it’s hard to flaming watch.
