Since it’s been decades since my chainsaw days and a new one is on the way I’ve been binge watching everyone’s channels about it to avoid problems… This was helpful, thank you.
I do the same thing. I clean the snot out of my Husky after each use. Mine gets stored for long periods of time so I empty the fuel tank and run some engineered fuel thru it when I know it's going into storage. The problem with pump gas isn't so much the ethanol but the benzene. All pump gas has benzene in it. Benzene is what kills carbs and fuel lines far more than ethanol. Engineered fuel has next to no benzene in it so it's a good option for storage. I also pull the spark plug and give the top of the piston a squirt of 2-cycle oil then pull the rope a couple times. Keeps corrosion out of the cylinder.
@@demetriogranados3879 I use the Home Depot house brand or Trufuel if that's all they have. And I use it only for storage. I use regular pump gas when I'm actually using the saw. The engineered fuel is too expensive for anything other than storage and storing my saw is my primary concern. Besides, the engineered fuel steals power from the saw. Here, Steve explains everything in this video. Well worth the 10 minutes it takes to watch it. ruclips.net/video/Wvps2gF0Sdo/видео.html
Trying again since comment was accidentally on a short, sorry I dont use RUclips very well i guess Very to the point explanation and demonstration! Ty! Love finding video of people explaining basics like this. lot of videos about sharpening and using th saw, but I don't see as many talking about how to take care of it.
Great video! Everyone should be doing this. Hey, what brand and model little hand blower did you use in the video. That little thing looks awesome. I haven’t bought one yet and I’d like to get that one if you’re happy with it. Thanx. 👍🏻
Thank you !!! 🙏 and I got the blower on Amazon it's called compressed air duster turbo the 300k rpm one. Brand is foretoo but they have a bunch of different ones to choose from.
Check air filter daily, rinse oil tank out weekly with saw gas. get ready for next week. Been doing this for nearly 50yrs and some of my saws are 30yrs old.
@DavidSmith-qg4dd Thank you so much for the positive comment really appreciate it David 🙏 and please feel free to leave any feedback or any other tips you may have experienced with to help others !!!
@douglashaner6802 Any brand of saw will last a long time if you maintain it. I like those craftsman saws as well I own one and mine is a great limbing saw. Does yours still run ?
@barney1941 i haven't had that problem yet. I also take the recoil off and clean everything inside but that's something I only do once every couple of months. But even with a lot of maintenance some saws may have manufacturing defects. All you can do is use it properly and maintain it the best you can. I also learned how to repair my saws so I can fix almost any problem. Saws are really not that complicated
I don't make the muscles for the chainsaw video friend LOL I just happen to also love working out and thank you for the comment friend I will take it into consideration.

@@joesixpack8305 Trufuel is perhaps the worst rated fuel.
@@iffykidmn8170 could be. I use mine for storage only. Can't speak to how well it works for fuel. Try a better brand.
