Both are so beautiful! I have to say tho, the contrast stitching in the bolide is divine👌🏽 But LVs millesime is absolutely gorgeous. Question: does it smell strongly of leather? I've heard LV uses a special perfume-glue(???) on bags but as this is a new member of their leather family, I'm not sure if they can use the same techniques as with canvas for instance.

I have literally never owned a leather bag much less an Hermès or LV one but I'd imagine the stiffer strap on the speedy would be preferable as the speedy is a bag that you most likely would want to wear on a particular part of your body (whether that's to the back slightly or to the front, etc) and a sturdier leather is more likely to mold to the shape of your shoulder in exactly the right place. Before that happens, it could be less comfortable but after its "learned" where and how much to bend, your bag will always rest in the same spot on your body and not move around so easily which is desirable in this style of crossbody due to how much it protrudes, i dont want that think swinging into things and people lol. The bolide rests closer to the body however so a softer strap is not a concern, maybe... Pls correct me if I'm wrong tho! 😅 I'm relatively new to the bag world and I love the nuance to all the details.

When it’s worn crossbody, it’s a little unwieldy, but the strap is useful if you need to throw it on your shoulder to be hands free. Over time, you are correct, if worn the same way, the strap would mold to your shoulder’s shape. It’s stiff compared to the LV Speedy mono vachetta leather strap, which is very soft. This is a different leather on the Millesime Speedy strap. Eventually it’ll break in. Let me know if you have other questions or thoughts 😊

I’ve never heard of perfumed glue. LV canvas typically has a nice smell and there are leather accents with canvas that smell of leather
