Lateral filter drains are not compulsory for testing, however they can be useful for speeding up the testing process. Please refer to the relevant standard for more information.

how aboout when compacting the soil to the remoulder?
do you compacted with inserting the water?
or it after compacted and then insert the water?
Can this procedure be used for Resilient Modulus test?

In 1:03 there is a hint. Effective stress test = CD or CU.
Also, he’s using saturated porous discs so he’s allowing for travel of gas and water to occur which indicates either CU or CD
