- Abstract from "Josè Carreras & Friends", a Royal Gala evening of operatic arias, duets and popular songs at the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess of Kent held at the Royal Theater Drury Lane in London in aid of the Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation.
Josè Carreras is accompanied by Katia Ricciarelli, Agnes Baltsa, Ruggero Raimondi and the London Arts Orchestra.

That's great! It's so nice and funny to watch this video. Each time when I see José Carreras bursting out into laughter, I nearly kill myself laughing!
The Story is: Ruggiero Raimondi had the words written down but lost them and then Katia whispers this to him and he cracks up.
I'm glad this is finally available on youtube! This is a great performance; they seem to be having lots of fun. And Katia Ricciarelli sounds loads better than I even remembered.

Yes pretty much :D. Did you see how he over extended the note and it made him look like he was yawning? He would've realised and when he went to start the next line he laughed. Then it all just went downhill =D.
How well it worked I begin to wonder if half of this was planned xD. They're just really good actors :P. Still sung very beautifully and both the girls sung it very fluidly.
Yeah, I think so. They're too good to mess up that badly.

I have this video 'Jose' Carreras & Friends'. I have often wondered what was going on here - private jokes? deliberately singing the wrong words? What is Jose' laughing at so much that momentarily, he cannot sing? I feel I am missing out on the joke. :-(
