I struggled with alcohol for more than twenty years. Am now three months sober. Life has never been sweeter, you wake up full of positive energy and with a clear vision. Each day without alcohol is a win. Wishing you all the best as you conquer this menace.
Hey there, Huge congrats on three months sober! That's absolutely incredible and such an inspiration. Waking up with positive energy is one of the best feelings, right? Keep it up, and you've got this!
It is good that this generation is talking about sobriety and the effects of alcohol on lives. We've for a long time swept this topic under the carpet. Part 2 will be a blessing to most of us, looking forward Jagero and Daniel.
Alcohol is all fun and games until you realize your partner cannot be happy until they drink. They cannot express themselves freely without alcohol. They do not know how to be romantic without alcohol. They cannot even have intimate relations without alcohol. It is then that you realize that it is not fun and games. Thank you for elaborating on the chase for dopamine.
Alcohol can definitely be a way to chase dopamine, but there are healthier ways to achieve that feeling. Maybe we can explore some of those in a future video?
I am amazed at the recovery of Daniel, I knew him before and am so happy with his growth. May God continue to sustain him, grow and expand him. Keep going my friend am proud of you!!!
Wow, that's incredibly powerful to share. I can't imagine how difficult those 15 years must have been. 2 years sober is such an accomplishment, congratulations! Keep going, you're so strong.
I also had serious issues with alcohol, got admitted once for withdrawal. It looks like madness. And it's unfortunate that I continued to drink even after that scary experience. Alcoholism is a serious disease. My turning point came late 2021 when I quit drinking. Am 2 years sober now, it's unbelievable to be back again.
Now imagine what the wives of addicted people go through. Dirt, vulgar language, crazy hallucinations of the victim, fear, violence and then the society doesn't understand anything and they at some point judge you harshly. My friends it's not easy. Congratulations Daniel for telling your story and overcoming this thing.😢
Trust me as wife to an addict, it's never that easy, I am depressed, stressed and traumatized for all that I have gone through with my husband and I can't even keep up with him. I have tried every way to help him stay sober but to no avail. My prayer is that one day God will deliver him from Alcoholism. I wish I could get someone to talk to him and he can get to understand all these.
Thanks for sharing your experience. You're absolutely right, addiction takes a toll on everyone around the addict. It's so important to raise awareness about the struggles of families. Sending strength to you and anyone going through something similar.
I am alcoholic too.went trough alot. Almost commited suicide, hospitalized for about three days.My dad was alcoholic too, but things are working out good lately. Stopped drinking for a year, traveled to the village sometimes this year and met my old friends and allover sudden started drinking. My wife caught wind of me drinking again and intervened.I have been sober for afew months now but above all without God you're just an empty shell.
Thank you for talking about this... And for him explaining it so well.... Please do an episode on ADHD... ALSO- Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in our brain involved in attention, reward, and motivation.
Wow... I have just listened to my life being narrated by someone else and funny part is sharing even the same name. Indeed people need to be informed about alcoholism.
