I have mixed feelings, the power and response is way better than the GTS but it’s an altogether different proposition fulfilling entirely different use cases. Your video made me regret, the intimate feeling you get, just you and the machine. Perhaps time for me to get an older 981 to cherish, a little bit of a pipe dream atm but good content like this is such an important motivator to achieve. Once again hats off to you 👍
Yes the UK are cracking down hard on the ICE from what I understand ( Harry’s garage, The intercooler etc). And realising that your “perfect” car has slipped through your grasp must be extremely painful. I know it’s happened to me, but through hard work (and eye watering repayments) , I now have my perfect car, never to be sold again . Best of luck trying to get a replacement. We are all behind you 👊
@@80six30how about an MX5? I bought a fully loaded 981 S Boxster, basically a gts spec for £33k, low mileage and mint. Prices have drifted up slightly, but much less than the £10-£15k premium for the gts
I own a manual 981 Caymans in London to be precise, the base 2.7 was a well calculated decision in anticipation of UK government crackdown on ICE. I will never be bullied out of my Cayman by any government tax or persuasion, only death will take that flat six BoxEngine away from me!

Just picked up a low mileage 981 Boxster GTS here in Melbourne. After owing a series of BMW M cars and Audi RS’, I’m convinced the Boxster in whatever guise might just be one of the best road cars ever made. I’m not even exaggerating.
Have the same 2016 but GTS 3.4 2016 47000km...Same color., same wheels.. I just put her in garage last 15 min... Always happy to drive this car, the sound, the handling, ... Normally, they must take value with the years... no FAP :)

@@klabauterknabe I moved ‘up’ from the ND 1 to my 2.7. The upgrade came in terms of better quality interior materials, more interior space, more luggage space, more power, and of course, that glorious sound.

Wow, that exhaust is a factory upgrade option from Porsche? That is awesome you can get that sound. The B9 S4 I'm currently driving sounds great in dynamic but could use a little more umph, I want to hear more pops like this. I plan to remove the front resonators later this year to try to get some more sound.

Thank you! Funny, you should mention the slightly shaky look. I must admit, I kinda like it, too - but it wasn't actually intentional. The DJI Action 4s I used facing rearward and forward were both set to Rocksteady +. I think the combination of bumpy roads and single-mount suction caps (vs double or triple-mounts) overwhelmed the digital IBIS. Thanks for watching!

Nice video Peter! I own a 2013 Indischrot Boxster 981 2.7 PDK with sports exhaust and all the other trimmings. Questions: Why do you not use the gear paddles en why do you stay away from the apexes?
I love that colour. I prefer the tactile rifle-bolt feel of the stick selector over the paddles - I've never enjoyed using paddles. What do you mean by 'stay away' from the apexes?
@@peterfritzphoto With apexes or clipping points I mean the inner side of curves. Your on the “wrong” lane but it makes you faster and the car go smoother.
@@Minkwie That's what I thought you meant. A few points: My objective isn't to go faster - it's to enjoy the feel of the car roughly within the limits of the law. I rarely clip an apex on the wrong side of the road - especially a blind bend. I don't want the car to go smoother by straightening the bends - enjoying the bends is the whole point of seeking them. 👍
@@peterfritzphoto OK different drivers, different philosophies. By kicking the apexes I feel the camber of the bends. And it is a form of tire management.
@@Minkwie I'll always go for the apex, but on my side of the road. Also note that some roads driven in this video has rough patches on the edge of the left-hand bends, so I wanted to avoid those where possible.

I totally agree with your assessments of the Porsche 928 Peter and Troy. It was a great car and so enjoyable to drive. My dad once had a used 1978, manual 928, and it felt like I was driving a car from another planet compared to my regular Volkswagen beetle! And we will also be keeping our 2013 981 Porsche Boxster, manual, silver, red interior forever! But we will be adding the factory Porsche sports exhaust sooner than later.
The 981 generation - still the benchmark.

@@Jay-xr3sb The MX5 is a great alternative. Quite a bit smaller, less practical, and not as melodious - but a brilliant machine.

You don't like shifting with the pedals?
My car is a PDK, so there's no clutch pedal. If you meant paddles, correct - I prefer to use the shift lever. It feels more natural to me.
