This was the best show ever, I enjoyed it so much. To this day I still watch reruns which I am glad it is still on. A reunion would be great To see. Kyra Sedgwick is an awesome actor. Miss them all.
I love Kyra and I love Brenda as a character. And I love every character in the show, because each one has a personality. They make you laugh, they make you cry, they give you emotions. And Brenda is sucha a smart woman in a chief position. I love the show. I think I've already seen like 5 or 6 times and I'd watch it again. I'm really upset that there isn't more of it.
Reading the comments, I was surprised to learn there are so many new fans of the show. The very first time I saw "The Closer" was in February 2021 on StarTV. I just never watched American tv before, quite pleased to be given the opportunity to see it!

I just discovered the show it is absolutely the best thing I’ve seen in years and for years I’ve been saying they just don’t make good shows anymore. Shame on me this is just God gifted talent all around from the writers to the production to the actors who portrayed such great character diversity I love this show

The 2000s had such great dramas like The Closer, White Collar,Burn Notice, The Shield, Sopranos, Royal Pains, Leverage, House MD, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Smallville, Monk, Psych etc. This was like the last era of great tv imo. I miss watching TNT and USA Network as a teenager.
Dang, just discovering this series via my local channel, cause I'm no paying for cable again. I'm truly addicted to the series. it's well written and I enjoy the characters and plot twist. Quality show that entertains and does not insult the viewers. Luv it!
This show. I thought it would be hokey when I saw the ads right before it came out. Dismissed it. Because I'm broke and don't have cable I watched it on Smart TV and after 1.5 episodes my eyes were opened!. Love it! Love Major Crimes too!

My sister didn’t believe that Southern accent was accurate but I told her that where Brenda is suppose to be from, it is and that Kyra had a dialect coach!! I think it’s just fine. Great character by a great actress. The whole cast really owned their roles, so superb‼️❣️👍👍👏👏

I watched The Closer when it was first on TV. I've on my fourth rewatch, and this time will follow it up with another rewatch of Major Crimes. Such a well written TV show, and universe with great ensemble actors. Probably one of the best shows EVER on TNT.

Having cats, I recognized that "Kitty" was actually sick during those episodes. Looked it up and confirmed my suspicion. Our cat, Annie, had a very similar look shortly before her death.

What a very talented actor and I’ve watched several movies that he’s been in. ‘Under Siege’ (1992), ‘Alien Resurrection’ (1997), ‘The Rock’ (1996), ‘Clear and Present Danger’ (1994), ‘Training Day’ (2001), ‘The Substitute) (1996), and others.
I'm late to the party. Have been bingeing on The Closer on Prime. Finishing Season 6 tonight. Love the entire brilliant cast that bring these characters to life. Going to really miss this one when it is over. Thank yeewww! Thank yewwww very much!:)
Then on to “Major Crimes” which continues the same...but different. Many of the same actors/characters with new ones and former characters in new positions.

Man my fave is Brenda and Sharon's interactions on the show. They just jumped off the screen. I would've loved if Sharon had had to join permanently to keep Brenda in line but I think how it ended was just perfect. Brenda attacking Stroh and all of their reactions were just ugh TV gold
This TV series is one of my all time favorites and I’ve watched the episodes over and over on TV - - even though I also bought the series on dvd. The cast have such a growth and bonding over each years episodes. The crew must be experts at keeping everything top notch. I miss it a lot. Every time Lt Flynn and Provenza got themselves into a bind - - 😬😲😆😂🤣❣️ I did watch ‘Major Crimes’ every season, yet ‘The Closer’ is the one I liked much more. Knowing what happens to a major character in the last season of ‘Major Crimes’, makes it difficult for me to rewatch.
I tell you what, I was raised by southern women - bless their little hearts - who were just like this character. Sweet & pretty as cotton candy but tougher than saddle leather. I still hear it in myself & my sister but all the generations after us sound like they grew up in California. A lot of jobs require you to moderate your accent but I always told them my ancestors (who were largely open-minded liberals as am I) fought for our rights including our accents! Loved this show & recently started getting reruns!

I'm in agreement with GW. Raymond in that episode is really strong. You can see the bond he has with Provenza. He's trying to avenge his brother's death and then all the grief comes pouring out of him at the end.
Impossible to make a super quality show like this one now days (especially with the "Zoomers" writters generation)! Many characters, all of them well written and well played, this is hard to achieve, if not impossible ! Amazing work !

I to this day LOVE, LOVE this show. (9/1/2024) In fact, I can probably quote lines from every single episode. No joke. I own it digitally, on DVD and on have it downloaded on 3 separate devices. It is like my nighttime relaxing glass of wine. But the (well one of them) episode, of Raymond’s breakdown over his brother’s death is one of the best pieces of acting we will ever see. It tears me up every time I watch it. AND. when Willie Ray dies. My own Mama had died shortly before that episode aired and I was a total mess. I think I scared my husband. And it is still hard to watch to this day. But I do wish that they’d brought back Brenda and JK for the BIG episodes in Major Crimes. You know, the deaths and ESPECIALLY brought Brenda’s name up more when they resolved the Philip Stroh storyline. The only thing said was Fritz asks Rusty if he is Ok, he says he’s in shock, Fritz says, yeah that’s what Brenda said. That was it. I mean after her being the main subject of his hatred, and vise versa for YEARS, and that’s all we got as fans. I mean so unfair!

Not a big fan of Raydor as a character but love the tension and conflict between her and Brenda. They both met their match in each other lol.
