what do you think would be some good changes to aba's combat? me personally, i think it would be way too much of an effort to try and balance a game with 130+ characters (at least too much effort for snake), but it still could probably use some changes.
at the same time, aba being braindead easy is almost kind of its identity and maybe a more balanced/in depth combat would work better for a sequel/separate series. the game isnt really good per se, but if u dont take it seriously it still has some merit imo.
make an actual hitbox for the m1s and replace whatever god awful ones are in place, make dashing actually useful and not just a little one that barely sends you anywhere, give all characters an evasive or give none an evasive (remove all evasives from the game)
fix m1 hitboxes, give swords/weapons longer hotboxes but slower m1s, increase health rn it's at like 110 maybe just give everyone 200 and Vegeta 300 in mode and 170 for Illya, have dashes go a farther distance the farther away your opponent is incase of runners or a full on dash to them if too far, block gauge and so per m1 the meter goes down (block meter will gradually go up over time) and when it's broken it resets, basically more realistic, would gut Denjis hybrid form, fix free Ichigo his combo extenders rarely extend, gut Jonathan (only his barrage), fix controller cause some characters are simply unusable or un fightable as a controller player and would add perfect blocks but only against moves (not ults) for free priority and would leave us with less spammers, would also allow Kiritos Nova Ascension to combo extend except it goes on a short cooldown so you can't just use the down slam version right away and lastly would remove the amount of hyper armor ABA has
@@r_2m. i agree with the hitboxes for m1s, but i dont know about the other 2. if dashing traveled farther it would probably enhance a lot of problems people already have (like people running/pretending to m1 and just dashing away) and u could develop a meta where people just dash m1 to get all their combos (like in anime showdown). i get giving everyone evasives, but not rlly removing them. most characters that do have them are above average for sure, but they usually 1. lack damage, and 2. are somewhat outdated and dont have as crazy bases/modes as other characters. maybe only aizen should get his changed/removed since he also has a counter. i dont know if a blanket removal is necessary.
