Ty for the review! great video too. Im in the market getting my first DAP. Im in the battle between DX300 and M11 Ltd. Been reading reviews on both devices. So far i am liking what im reading about DX300. Im only afraid for future support for this device. I mean, this is not a CHEAP DAP compare to almost half price M11 Ltd. I am new to this audiophile thing, just started this year. I was happy with few BOSE/SONY/Ipod (bluetooth), then switch to IEM/Wired headphone and stand alone DAC. I was amazed!!! its like coming from 1080p to 4k (video). The amount of details. My question is should I get this now? or wait for the AMPs (changeable, more reviews) to come out or wait until M17? Im worried about spending too much money, only to find out after 1 year using DAP become irrelevant compare to what I am seeing (last generation daps), getting less support not only on hardware but software too. If im getting this device, i want it at least good for 3 yrs or more. I know we get better technology every year. But what i am saying is "no point to buy another DAP, because this year (2024-iBass0 DX600) its not much or little difference from iBasso DX300 (hardware/software). For example iPhone 10max compare todays iPhone 12max (little difference when it comes to performance to my understanding), that is why im still rocking iPhone10 max 512GB. TY! to anyone who can reply.... This audiophile thing is SO addicted.. in pursue of that AUDIO NIrvana!
Our personal experience with iBasso is that they provide strong support for their devices. If you buy at Bloom we have good relationship with the iBasso team and also help facilitate that. As far as the tech, I'd expect iBasso to be supporting the Amp card for several years in the future, since they just started a new generation, so we'll probably see several models using the same style with various upgrades. My personal player is the DX160, and it's continued to receive firmware updates, and the hardware itself has held up quite well after a year and a half of use. So I'd expect the same if not better for the flagship products.
Hi, so a software option on the DX300 allows you to switch the 3.5mm output to coax to use with the included adapter. So you can use that as a digital output to another device.
Thanks for the quick response. This is not something that the AK SE200 and Alpha Khan could do. This certainly is a added benefit to anyone who wants to connect his/her portable player to a receiver or amplifier.
Hello. Did you do burnin or all your opinions are without that? Other question. About treble vs sp2000. Does dx300 have rounded and liquid treble like ak sp2k?
Hey, so while I'm a little bit skeptical about burn-in, I did run it with the burn-in cable overnight a couple times while I was testing it, and it was a customer return, so it had over 50 hours on it by the time I was done. That said, I didn't notice any major differences in my impressions of the sound throughout, whereas I would say that my personal DX160 has "matured" nicely over close to a year of use. As far as the treble, I wouldn't say that it's quite the rounded "liquid" treble of the SP2000, but it is more smooth than the DX220 (or 220 Max).
@@BloomAudio Hi, it's interesting to read your comment about the dx160.. I have the dx160 just wondering how much of an improvement is the dx300 sonically really? Is it worth buying if you already have dx160 since its the same dac chip in both, l don't believe more dac translates to better sound. I just don't wanna spend this much money for a marginal improvement over the dx160... Thanks mate!!
@@suntanglory So I love the DX160, and it's one of the top players I recommend. However, the improvement between the DX160 and DX300 is definitely more than marginal. In terms of the total presentation of the 3D image, the DX300 has a larger soundstage with better positioning, layering, and separation. The presentation of details, and resolution is also stronger. Are all those attributes 3x as good as the DX160? Probably not. But if you take something like a Campfire Andromeda and plug it into both, you're going to notice immediate improvements in the DX300.
Depends on what you need. The output is a little more relaxed than the KANN Alpha, while the KANN still has a little more power. DX300 also has the advantage of modular amp cards, but it's going to be somewhat up to your taste.
For highest sound quality only , should i go for this DAP or IFI Diabo ?. Looking for a transportable setup with the highest sound quality at around the same price range .
Sorry for the delay in my response. In terms of absolutely SQ, the Diablo might have the edge. The Diablo will also have noticeable performance improvements in performance with most planar headphones due to the extra power.
I just buy an iBasso DX300 to mainly listen my music from steaming plateformes. I’m asking if i would need an headphone amplifier to get better results?
I am curious, what are some things you would find helpful in a video like this? Obviously a 10 minute video of me listening to music on the player wouldn't be particularly interesting. And there are some other videos out there that are more focused on measurements and technical details, where I'm more focused on the user experience.
Thanks! Bought this one 2 weeks ago. So far really happy with it! Won over fiio m15 and shanling m8 for me in direct comparison.
i got those 3 daps in my radar , may i ask what do you like more about the DX300 compare to the other two Dap ?

Doe the DX 300's USB-C connection works as a coaxial output so i can connect to other higher-end DACs or a home system? Please advise. Thank you

Hi. Which are the best headphones for this player? 1-3 models please. Thanks
I’m assuming 7.1 vrms is on high gain? What is the output on low and medium gain?
350mw.

Definitely a little more on the rounded side to my ears.
