I know you've had these on RUclips for years, but I just discovered them. As a kid--high school, early 1950s, I loved Leroy Anderson and played his music over and over again. I whistled along with them. Then I went to college and I haven't heard a single piece since then--64 years ago. But when I play them here, I remember every note and whistle as I once did. I am 14 years old again for a few minutes. If this isn't Time Travel, I don't know what is.
I was hearing this song in my mind this morning and wanted to hear it again. Thanks for putting this up! Great job with the images accompanying the music. The music Leroy Anderson deserves to ring on forever.
To chyba utwór hipnotyczny? !.
Nigel, thank you very much for the works of Leroy Anderson. Until today, I only knew "the typewriter". But thanks to you I know now a lot more of these great works of music. Thanks for sharing.
I, too only really knew of Leroy Anderson's "Typewriter". Showcasing his works, here on You Tube gave a great insight to the genius of the composer. Thanks , Frank. Nigel
The "Saraband" was a stately dance of Spanish origin, dating to Medieval times. Baroque era and early Classical composers (Handel, Bach, Scarlatti, etc.) often included it in their instrumental suites. But it was usually in a slow, almost moribund, 3/2 time signature. Leroy Anderson's "Saraband" shakes off the cobwebs and delivers a sucker-punch of rhythmic swing -- even a bit of Old New Orleans Jazz --- to the dance form. It proves an old musical dog can be revived with new tricks! For many years (until the onset of COVID19) I have played piano/keyboard with dance bands that featured a variety of genre's and styles. Frequently I would slip LeRoy Anderson's "Saraband" into the playlist, and it is surprising how many people loved it and, once being informed the name of the tune, requested its performance.
Leroy had his metropolitan style and it was beautiful. He composed many different styles and was successful. I was lucky to around in the 50s during his composing heydays. I aways thought Saraband was a particular beautiful composition.
Leroy Anderson is a great example of right time.right place for his kind of music. Today he might be composing Broadway music, which is the closest to this music genre.
Jim, he wrote the music for the musical "Goldilocks" in 1958. It seems it was not a great critical success. One thing, though, our taste in music might have changed profoundly, from when Leroy Anderson was composing, but his music and arrangements are still very popular. It shows the genius of the man..... Happy New Year to you. NIgel
Again, you have done yourself proud with your lovely, sometimes humorous, visuals. You really have a feel for this, Nigel. Are you a Designer or Artist?

The illustrations match the music perfectly! Ah, Leroy Anderson! One of America's truly great composers!
Thanks Roy! You are most welcome!

Necessary bis 😊🌹 Welcome and thank you again.
This aged, broken-down ex-dancer (and skater) sat here and wept with joy at the lovely visuals you added to "Saraband." PERFECT! Thank you SO much!

Can't recall ever hearing this song! CHEERS!
Great pleasure, Jim. Happy New year to you. NIgel
Likewise! HAPPY NEW YEAR to you. This song is so much like a British light music production cue composed by a Brit like Charles Williams. :)

Thank you, Mircea. Nigel
Musically we know of:Gold finger and The Man with the Golden Arm but Mr. Andersen definitely had a "Golden Pen"!

Again many thanks Sarah. I have great fun making these movies. I am a retired photographer..... Nigel
Not too retired, obviously. I miss my graduate schooldays in England and Denmark, too. The world was a bit different then.
👌
Me thinks , that this ballet would be preformed in the style of a soft shoe shuffle
