The cool thing is that the quality from the cgi cutscenes are now seen in some games today. So if this game would be remade for the ps4 and xb1, it is gonna look so good

Hm... maybe. I dug a lot into in-game assets, and a lot of things are pulled off because of how undetailed things are. Most npcs didn't have anything other then a color and normal map.
This game fits the image "you either die a legend or live long enough to become the villan"

He did both. He died as hero in fist game, but then reborned as Virus in Prototype 2.

What? The graphics and physics look exactly what I would expect from a game of that year. I would even argue that Half-Life 2 looks better in some areas and that's even older.
I had so fun pretending to be a soldier going around with a squad and clearing mutants in the quarntine zones using only weapons.

@@festivalkyrie3865 Only if they toss out Prototype 2s storyline. They had such a good set up for Pariah and Alex, then we got Prototype 2... :/ I loved the first game, enjoyed the second one but hated the storyline and how they made Alex evil.

Find Pariah, figure out that line and we have no idea about Pariah beyond the fact he was Elizabeth Greenes child. That's it, nothing more. That's where the game should have gone, WITH Alex.

Also a funny thing I tried on this game is increasing game's speed with CheatEngine. It really felt like a The Flash (DC) game. If you still have the game downloaded you definitely should check it out!
+ Ultimate Spider-Man game had some dope Venom gameplay for year 2005.

@@datboy038 and that's what i love about the first game - you had to earn that godhood, especially on hard (let's be real, the only real) difficulty, where you are relentlessly punished by everything the game has to throw at you. no half-measures, no accessibility features for people who just... can't handle the heat!, and an arsenal of movement-based combat abilities that you ABSOLUTELY need to even have a chance of making it through endgame!

i don't even know what to say man, there's literally a button that makes you invulnerable to 90% of enemies' attacks.

There was a prototype 3 in the works, but got canceled. And Radical is just a support company, and can't start or develop a new game on their own since Activision owns them. So if Activision decides to work on Prototype 3, it could be done (but I highly doubt it). Same thing happened with Alan Wake series: Microsoft bought Remedy (Alan wake 2 was in the works but eventually got canceled). Not so long ago, Remedy got separated from Microsoft and the CEO said that it would be nice to continue with the series of Alan Wake (so I have faith now that they can continue with the series). I hope that Activision can be the same for Prototype...

I agree, it's quite interesting how graphical those cinematic cutscenes were and how much quality the creators were able to put into them.
In terms of how old the game is now, it probably has the best cinematic cutscenes I've seen for a game of it's time.

The Main Protagonist of the Game isn't the Real Alex Mercer it is the BlackLight Virus taking Alex's Form. The Virus consumed the Real Alex Mercer Body and Memory. and Became him after doing so. Alex Mercer is described as A "Borderline Sociopath" who never cared about anybody else but his Sister Dana Mercer.

Prototype was way WAY ahead of it's time. I remember going to computer shops just to finish this game, I could care less if I sit on a different computer every time since playing it from the start is fun
This is facts! Especially with the in game cut scenes. Most similar games nowadays struggle to compare to this franchise.
I'm pretty happy both games are on current gen.
The problem: they aren't backwards compatible (at least with PS4, not sure about XB1) so I can't use my PS3 discs. This is why you should keep old consoles.

The animations are way different weird like the first animation alex looks like a burn victim 2:13 the scond animation alex looks like a way different person and he has brown eyes 3:23 the actually video game animation alex looks like himself and he has sliver colored eyes 5:05 the scond animation of alex looks cool to tho
His CGI model is different. It is based on his ingame appearence, but with slight changes. Like his skin is more realistic, his eyes and eyebrows are more detailed

We all know Mercer LET Heller consume him, and we all know what is coming
I’m not so sure, Heller did kick him around like it was nothing but it wasn’t particularly easy and Mercer did fight back vividly. I would say he just wasn’t as strong because he was focused on other things and Heller was just consuming things over and over and eventually became stronger, that’s my theory anyway.
@@SkyTheSpy While you certainly have a valid explanation, Alex is the ultimate monster. Able to overcome death itself. I assume you have seen the end of Prototype 1. That itself is reason enough that Alex isn't dead. You remember when Alex talked about Heller's particular DNA? Why would he turn Heller's daughter, if he could get that DNA for himself(consume Heller from the inside)
Dread Huntsman That is also a valid explanation, not much I can debate with there, so I’d chalk it up to either or. There may or may not be something behind Alex’s plan and I’d say it’s possible for him to consume Heller from the inside, but in what way would he go about doing that I wonder.

Alex Mercer is one of the coolest character and have some cool superhuman abilities due to blacklight virus. He's my favorite character. I hope the creators of the game will introduce us the new version of prototype

I wonder why alex became evil in prototype 2.but according to Dana Blackwatch and every scientist knew that the whitelight is getting worse instead of getting better and Heller say that He will stop Alex for destroying the city. 😢
As far as I understand about the second game, Alex gets fully consumed by the virus you could say. Alex was never Alex to begin with unfortunately, when he died at Penn station while releasing the virus, it got into his bloodstream and became him essentially, thinking that it was Alex Mercer, thit is when the first game starts. The virus was going to eventually deviate and lose it's sense of self, or what it thought it was. That's why Alex is so gruesome in the second game.

I have completed prototype 1 way more times than 2. It's not like I didn't like the story of 2 but man prototype 1 has way better combat, abilities and movements. It makes you feel in full control of Alex, makes you feel actually like him. This connection is absent with James Heller.
