In general, Italians and Russians do not seem to mind being round Africans/Blacks. For Italians, it may have something to do with the fact that, historically, Italians and Jews were considered blacks until the early 1900s.
Russians on the other hand, until 1917, suffered serfdom, a form of slavery, that was sanctioned by the Orthodox Church. That is why God allowed Russia to fall to Communism for seventy years, until 1988. Technically then, Russians are the group of people worldwide most recently emancipated from slavery. So you should not be surprised if you meet Russians who feel more comfortable amongst Africans than Europeans and Americans. The wealth gap between Russians and the West only started closing barely over a decade ago. Before that, Russians struggled to get by in life, and that is probably why they feel culturally closer to Africans than the West.
To a large extent, the same could be said of Chinese. Usually the Press publishes stories of specific incidents. But if you analyze the story further, it's usually one of the more elite Chinese who are causing problems.
That's not to blame the West for not mixing with Africans. While we acknowledge that racism is present, for many Westerners who are not racist, the wealth gap simply means that the way they do things might be very different from Africans. For example, flying is a big thing in Africa. People save for years. Even buying a bus ticket to go up country can be a major challenge. But, in the West, the average price of a ticket for a flight is around half the minimum monthly wage. So an African might form the opinion that Westerners are snobbish and spending money on a flight ticket instead of buying food for the cattle, sheep and goats.

Here's the deal, you are only shouting because you are in an African country and you know there won't be any severe repercussions, plus people are desperate for jobs. Yelling to others at work is a form of HARASSMENT. You wouldn't do this if you were working with your fellow Europeans or American because you know it is not allowed. Would you do that in Switzerland? Would you do that in Germany? Would you do that in America?

It's the corruption. Simple things like getting an ID or a passport can take months or a year if you are not connected or don't give a bribe. It should be given based on the date of application. Same thing with buying land and doing title searches. It can take months, but if you bribe, it will take 5 days. You see bribes being given to police officers every day from matatus. I once committed a traffic offense at night due to poorly marked roads and was stopped by the police. Multiple police officers got into my car with AK47's and asked if I wanted to go to jail or bribe them 😅. What I had in my wallet wasn't enough, so we drove all together to withdraw more money 😂😂. I even asked about the road and how it's clearly not marked, and that didn't matter to them. I love my country, Kenya, and I'm actively investing in Kenya, but I can understand why the diaspora doesn't want to invest. Be humble, be patient, and not be in a rush. Lessons from living in Kenya
