I'm currently doing a 68 800. I'm lucky enough to have an uncle with a stockpile of scout parts to include a roll of original upholstery material. The plan is to keep is as close to stock as possible with a few upgrades such as wiring, electric windshield wipers, alternator, and switching from an amp meter to a volt meter (no since in doing all this work only to have a fire under the dash) I love watching your guy's videos keep it up!
When coming across a Scout with a rough interior is it frowned apon to just completely redo the interior for a more modern look and function? As in new radio, speakers, interior materials on the door and floor. I'm wanting to build it out to be a daily driver, weekend fun machine not a show car. The one I'm eying runs but was used as a snow plow for years, no salt on our roads (Alaska) but still has some rust in the usual spots. Interior is pretty bare and neglected.
1966 scout Brown with 75' Ford 302 c-4 mated to transfer case w/Dana 40's. Woody's 4x4 pro install. Was an ex forest service vehicle. Original engine weighs about the same as v-8. Sold it 20 years and now In the process of locating it . Somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. I miss it.
What kind of prices are you guys paying for some these scouts. I just bought a 61 Scout 80 and payed $500 for it. Its been setting for maybe 10 years but engine is free.
I had one 40 yrs ago! Loved it it was a tank and could out pull all the other big boy trucks... Bad side it only went 45-50 mph and even then parts were hard to get.
