Hi Sam, had no idea you were an Oasis fan???!! i saw them twice, one time was brilliant the other time they were shit. also saw Noel solo acoustically on one occasion, he was brilliant. i think the announcement/press conference will certainly be to announce UK gigs next year for sure. i dont think Liam's voice is capable anymore, he always sounds strained and forced on all of the live clips i have seen of him. i would also put bets on that they wont even complete a tour because both brothers' egos are too big to contain IMO. FYI, i ranked ALL of the studio albums a while ago (oasis, beady eye, and the solo albums) which you may or may not be interested in. good luck getting tickets if they eventuate mate. - Lloyd
I think the recent Liam stuff has sounded great live, and he's also in his 50s now so after years of abuse vocally I'm glad he has what he has. The Beady Eye stuff sounded more strained compared to his solo work. Cool that you got to see them
Hiya pal. I was there at reading festival. Currently at a McDonald’s waiting to leave the town. The announcement of the date came on just as Liam finished I am the walrus. Everyone is freaking out here
This is definitely happening. Talk is, 10 shows at Wembley. To beat Taylor Swift's 8 show run this year. 😊 An interesting week for Oasis fans. The reunion announcement, plus the 30th anniversary of "Definitely Maybe" on Fri. With a bonus CD of mostly unreleased early sessions and takes.
@@samstjohn1994 I'm sure there will be a 2 CD 30th anniversary set for that album as well. Better pick an early concert date, just in case things go wrong between the brothers. ha!

@@samstjohn1994 It was an itinerary graph that "leaked" before today's announcement. And all the UK dates checked out, so this could be real. Some of those dates are just offered, there may only be one show, instead of two. I guess it depends on the demand.
@@samstjohn1994 My ideal line up would be Liam, Noel, Gem, Andy, Bonehead & Chris. With Gem and Chris playing with Noel and Bonehead playing with Liam just now it seems most likely. Mike Rowe on keyboards possibly too as he's been with Noel since he went solo and played with Oasis in the 90's, although would be could to see Jay Darlington back.
Big Oasis fan but - not for me, there is a rather dull inevitability about it all. News from the UK say's its happening, possibly headlining glastonbury - shows at Wembley London and big shows in Manchester.
@@samstjohn1994 i have a bit of an issue with the idea of bands reforming to trot out the same old hits again and again - i saw them in 97, 02 & 06 and it was great - they were great but to revisit it 15 years later for a set of shows? Well it will no doubt raise a lot of money but? Artistically? It does nothing really. There's something boring and predictable about these live shows ...... i bet the first song they play will be 'Rock n roll star'......- i always respected The Jam for not reforming - in fact Paul Weller said to Noel if he ever got Oasis back together he'd brick Noels windows!! Ha ha.
I am a big Oasis fan and for me Noel G is the most influential songwriter (I write music as well) and probably my favourite musician of all time, BUT, despite all this, I do not consider an Oasis reunion is necessary. That ship has sailed a long time ago. Oasis had reached their peak and fulfilled their potential ages ago, there is no unfinished business there (or at least it shouldn't be one). People remember the Oasis from the '90s, at their peak, when Liam had a great voice (I cannot stand his voice now to be honest, I much more prefer Noel's) and when Noel could play lead guitar, which he can't anymore as himself stated several times during the recent years, as since he's gone solo he only strums chords, he's not a guitar hero anymore (well, many would claim he never was). So my point is: that Oasis so many people miss is long gone and it will never be back. I suspect a reunion, if indeed happens, will be seen like a disappointment on the long run, or even like a sad event, despite the initial mega hype which it would certainly generate.
I appreciate the comment! I think Noel and Liam getting together might just be a way to close the chapter peacefully. I'm really hoping we get something, even if it's just new tunes. I love the Liam solo records so I'm very excited!
Oasis were mid tier as far as Britpop bands go in my opinion. Blur are the real kings of Britpop. Supergrass is amazing. Suede, Boo Radleys, and Super Furry Animals are all excellent. Oasis were pretty good, but it's unfortunate to me that those other bands didn't really break through in the US. I just saw an old interview with Taylor Hawkins who apparently had a feud with Noel Gallagher and referred to his band as the Low Flying Turds. That gave me a laugh. Some of the Beady Eye stuff was pretty good. Haven't listened to Liam's recent solo stuff, but I know it's been well received.
@@catsofsherman1316 thanks for tuning in. I like Blur okay, but there was just something about those brother harmonies that did it for me. I really hope this turns into something!
Blur is incredible, but they were depressive and melancholic. Oasis were the best because they were fun, optimistic, rejected showing weakness and rowdy.
They look really excited in the thumbnail. I hope they have more enthusiasm with a reunion. I know that you would love it.
